Although us consumers love the illusion and belief of free choice, marketing and celebrity endorsements have played a huge role in the rise (or fall) of brands and they'll continue to do so. One noticeable shift in recent years has seen marketing move towards social media, where influencers now have major sway in every single market.

Using the correct influencer and marketing strategy can decide what will be the next major sports drink, which headphones every kid will want for Christmas and with gambling forever on the rise, influencers have helped to make betting appear commonplace and their input could also crown the best offshore sportsbook.

We take a look at some of the biggest influencers in the world and how they've helped to shape the current offshore betting scene.

Amanda Vance

There’s an archaic belief that sports betting is just for men. The truth, however, is that many women and their male counterparts are now enjoying sports betting as a pastime. One visible entity for this statement is Amanda Vance. She’s an avid American sports fan, following all the major competitions, such as the NFL, NBA, NHL, and even some of the PGA. She’s become notable as she keeps winning bets based on her insight into the sports, which, combined with her fashionable presentation, makes her a valuable sports betting influencer by opening up major untapped markets for brands to explore.

Ja Cavalier

Ja Cavalier might not have the fame of other influencers like Vegas Dave, Mazi, or even Salvador Meza. However, he does have something that makes him unique: 25 years in sports broadcasting on national radio stations in the United States. He’s not someone picking out results for fun; it was his profession for a quarter of a century to speculate about sports.

What is better yet is that Ja doesn’t put his picks or tips behind a paywall. Many who gain notoriety and fame for their picks will often withhold critical information after gaining a following. Ja could employ this method in the future, but for now, enjoy getting the information on his channels for free!

Jake Paul

Was it just a matter of time before Jake Paul became involved in sports betting? The one-time social mega-star has been dabbling in boxing for a few years now. His 11-1 record has seen him defeat retirement-age Nate Diaz, Anderson Silva, and Mike Tyson in a move that nobody has been particularly impressed with.

Paul, not content with being an in-ring talent promoter and hype-man, founded a sports betting site. This represents a whole new strategy as influencers are finding that instead of being paid to promote someone else's brand, they can just use their clout to take over the market instead. This might be the one industry where it's not that easy, the market is heavily saturated and it's widely accepted that BetOnline is rated as the best offshore sportsbook, but with Paul's fame and knowhow, perhaps his new company "Betr" can find a way to rise to the top.

Faceless Tip Profiles

People are actively trying to make a name for themselves, and many social media profiles promote betting tips and ideas. These are generally faceless accounts called Basketball Betting Tips, as opposed to Mr. Harrison’s Picks, etc. These profiles can often be part of larger companies trying to direct traffic to their own designated best offshore sportsbook, but the lack of visible personality means they live and die with the success rate of their tips.

Tommy Fury

There might not be a boxer who blurs the line between social media and combat sports more than Tommy Fury. Despite starting his career as a prosperous professional, he shot to fame outside of the ring—on Love Island. Most of his opponents on his resume don’t even have Wikipedia pages; those who do are KSI and Jake Paul.

He was supposed to fight Darren Till, but the fight never went ahead. Instead, he’s made more waves on social media. In 2025, it was announced that he got back with his ex, Molly-Mae Hague after the pair separated after their first child's birth.

Jordynne Grace

Okay, there is a fine line between a social media influencer and someone popular on social media because of another outlet. Jordynne Grace is a professional wrestler whose career skyrocketed when she started documenting her body transformation on Instagram. That led her to world title runs and she has recently signed a contract with WWE.

During the climb, as mentioned earlier, she worked with DraftKings on multiple collaborations to help promote sports betting markets that would appeal to her audience, especially in combat sports. She often talked through a card and selected which fighter she thought would emerge as the victor.

Not a new concept

Remembering this marketing strategy is not a new revelation or a ground-breaking turn of events is worth remembering. Sports betting companies have been doing this for years and are primarily still working with famous figures to push their product. Harry Redknapp is still working for a few brands; Ray Winston seems to have been collaborating with bet365 for an eternity, and the list goes on
