Pandemic: past, present, future...or rather Future, Past, Present by Melody Fox (aka the Princess of Rock)

Random Thoughts...

2019...before the pandemic...

During the pandemic~which is far from over~I signed up to a lot of sites, mainly voice acting, but, I discovered recently, that I also became part of this *Vocal* site... I'm not even sure what I'm supposed to do, nor how I got here in the first place. Probably out of desperation because of not having any DJ work/events. Lol Anyway, here I am!

I read a couple of stories noticing several mistakes, and not just typos, so I guess people just write whether they're professionals or not. Personally, I am a journalist, a jobless one, and, of course, a DJ, again, an eventless one, for now. Hopefully, things will change! Two blogs are under my belt, and, frankly speaking, I haven't written in either one of them for quite a while. Demotivated? probably so, but also worried because of not having enough income, and not only that.

My life, like so many millions of humans (and all other living things) in the universe, and maybe outer space too, changed...Many people lost so much~including their lives~and my heart goes out to them, and those who are grieving. Personally, I lost a lot of work: being a DJ, there have been no events since February of 2020. That double rounded number is printed in my brain like dynamite! Luckily, and I thank my lucky stars and angels for this, my health was pretty good (and is). Of course, I had (have) very little work...I teach online, but that is not enough. Two blogs, but no income... I had to reinvent myself, in a way. Several of my Friends and Fans helped me with donations, so I decided to invest that precious money to get some new equipment for voice acting. My voice has been used for jingles in recording studios, and I used to have my own radio show, both in English and in Italian, so why not? One tiny glitch: I had to wait several months for a professional mike, arriving all the way from Australia, plus other gear. However, in the meantime, I had signed up to several voice acting sites, and here (Vocal) too. At the time of writing, I have received several projects through these voice acting sites, but no money. Why? because *they* favor people who take out yearly subscriptions...I do not have the economical means to do so, therefore I am always left out. My projects have been reviewed several times (the site alerts you on every single thing...at least you know it's not a ghost deal! Lol), but that's where it has ended. Numerous times I've made recordings, then, when ready to send digital file, spoof! up pops notification saying that project is closed! It drives you nuts! They insist that these things will never happen if you subscribe and pay a fee (approx. $ 350/year) and you'd get more chances to obtain the project. Alas, I can't do that...nor is there any guarantee that it will ever happen. All an incognito!

Shoot, I almost submitted for review by mistake! oops! the *save changes* notification was temporarily gone, and I almost missed it! Lol

Future...Past...Present...

The FUTURE is an incognito, for we do not know how long into the future we shall be around in this awesome universe...

In my opinion, the way I see it, the PAST provides us with memories that one should cherish, be they positive, be they negative: there's always something to learn! Errors may be repeated, obviously, but we can also learn from our mistakes, and then, eventually, choose to screw up again or not. Lol

What is important, in my opinion, is the PRESENT...You are living the present. Why make so many plans when everything could collapse in just a split of a second? No, I'm not being pessimistic, on the contrary I'm quite an optimistic alien: maybe realistic because of experience, but not pessimistic. Live the present and make just a few plans...

Anyway, I've always thought on these terms, and the pandemic has nothing to do with my line and/or way of thinking...If at all possible, life has gained more memento.

Even though the disease of the century is still very much alive, I wish to be hopeful anyway. There are still a lot of cases, deaths, and so many people still not vaccinated, depending on which part of the globe one is. It could take forever and then, who knows, something else could pop up! So...my advice is, take advantage of the moment, live day by day, for we know not what the morrow can bring...

Let the good times (rock and) roll!

After thought: I would have a lot more to write, especially on how good it feels to be able to travel again, and taste that special freedom treat, also mentioning some recent experiences, but, not knowing how this works on the site, I'm going to bring it to a gentle halt here...
