Matrimony, Heartbreak, and Broken Promises: My 2014 Love Story

I started liking him as he is family oriented and gives much importance to his family. Within two months, we met each other and spent time together for two-three days. During that time, I was in US project and I was about to get H1B. As he was in Europe, he wanted me to come to Europe to be with him, so I moved out of US project saying I got engaged to a guy and he lives in Europe.

As I wished, I moved to Non-US project and got my Europe Visa within 6 months. I was happily sharing each and every updates regarding my travel to that guy. But he didn’t show much interest. As I was busy in shopping, visa stamping, I didn’t bother about it much. The day when I was in airport, I called him and said that I will be boarding flight in another 2 hours. He was quite shocked and asked “ really are you travelling” and I came to know from him that he is also in India.

Next day I reached Europe and asked him when he will be back as I wanted to see him badly. He said I will be back tomorrow and of course we will meet on this weekend along with your friends. I told him that I want to meet you alone as it was long time since we met. The answer which he said was really shocked me. He said he got engaged. I got broken into pieces. We were in relationship for 2 years.

I changed my dream (H1B) and passion trusting him blindly was my biggest regret.

I forgot him completely and moved on. My parents found a match for me and I agreed though I was not much interested. But when a guy tells I like you, no one will deny. I was in abroad, so his family met me in skype and said okay. They wanted to keep the marriage within a month but due to my project assignment I could not come back within in a month. As both the family are happy with this, We started talking and we fell in love too. Once I’m back to India, they came and met me and my family. Unfortunately his family didn’t like my family and they said that they can’t proceed further. He also gave up finally. I suffered a lot almost for a year.

After a year, I got one more alliance.. Thank god I didn’t talk to him. It came till finding marriage hall and they cancelled it for no reason. We didn’t even know that they are gonna cancel this. After calling them so many times, the picked up the call and said they don’t want to proceed. They didn’t tell the reason too.

My question here is, what guy’s family is thinking about a girl and her family. We girls are not doll right. If they want, they will make all the arrangement with no time. If they don’t want, they ignore us like a street dog. I don’t have words to say how much am hurt.
