To The Grave
You pour yourself another glass of rum, this time with no mixer. It’s your fourth of the night, and your vision begins to blur. You feel warm and friendly, smiling as your sister-in-law passes by you, stroking your shoulder gently with her supple hand. Her auburn hair sways before your eyes, and you find it hard to take your eyes away from it. You feel another tap on your shoulder moments later. You turn towards it, and see your wife, ‘Having a good time?’ she asks, smiling.

The Autobiography of a Fractured Soul
This is not a traditional autobiography. I will not talk about my entire life story. Instead, I wish to focus in on a few key moments in my life and write about them as if they are their own short stories. These 'short stories' will not be in chronological order of my life. I hope this doesn't put anyone off from reading. There will be no set schedule as to when I will write. I must warn you, some of the stories I will share are not pleasant and are extremely personal. I only wish to have somewhere to write about my experiences in life without judgement or ridicule. Thank you for reading this.

Unintended Consequences of Covid-19
I am a bit of a geek. This is something that I have always known about myself. In March 2007, I started dabbling in virtual worlds. I ran a nightclub, bought and sold land, made things. I did many of the usual things people who inhabit virtual worlds do. I had a group of friends from those early years that endured, for the most part. Although much like real life, some disappeared never to be seen again. Sometimes you had disagreements with people. Virtual living is just living, after all.

NEVER AGAIN
Who likes to talk about, let alone share cringeworthy embarrassing stories? I don’t know about anyone else, but can we say P.T.S.D. O.M.G. I mean, it’s hard enough trying to forget. However, these stories make the most interesting, and possibly laughable tales to share with others later on.

My first embarrassing moment
First embarrassing moment: In my elementary school, we often have to yell our grades on homework and quizzes outloud for the teacher to record in her book. I had trouble, especially with the numbers in the 90's. I was a smart student and hated getting A's and B's because I stuttered on those scores. One day, my teacher got tired of my quiet voice, not knowing that I was trying to hide my stuttering. She told her T.A. to go outside and listen for a number that I would yell! Yes, the entire class was watching. The teacher told me a number and I said it as loud as I could. The teacher orders the T.A. to come in. "What did you hear?" "23?" says the T.A. "Go back outside." The T.A. goes outside and the teacher turns to me and says, "She probably heard me say that one." Oh! The hurt! Oh the pain! Yes, this goes on with the teacher whispering numbers to me for me to yell out! For once I was smarter than the teacher knowing it was all futile and just a time of humility in front of the class! She was trying to break me out of my shell but really she can't accept the fact that not all people can be loud-talkers.

"I Know What I Saw..."
We got to the club around ten and did our usual, chasin’ the women and all that, but we kept drinkin’ for a while. Check it out, there were these chicks sittin’ in a lounge area and there was this one that had these big-ass—she had large breasts. I asked her to dance and we had danced together a good while when she invited me to her place. She was fine, too, well, in the club anyway.”

Dream Date
Dream Date “Must wear white” or that’s what stood out about the article. It said that a celebrity wore white for months to subliminally have her man think of her in a wedding dress. My apartment was scattered with the latest magazine issues; “Single and Ready to Mingle”, “Always a Bridesmaid? How to walk down your own aisle”, and my personal favorite; “Ripe and Ready to be picked!” Based on everyone else’s standards, I was pass my prime, thirty-five, single, never married, and no kids. I had nowhere to go but up.

The Long Wait
I’d like to think I gave this man a fond memory, something he talks about even to this day. I might even be right. This is probably a story he shared with friends and family for years. I imagine him at a family barbeque, telling the story, only to be met with groans of “Not again!” Or perhaps it’s the other way around. Maybe every family reunion he’s asked to tell the story about the lady in the pharmacy so a new crop of teens could hear and wish that maybe someday it would happen to them.

Friday Flash – First Date
Friday Flash – First Date Apri 1 2021 7:07pm. I’m sitting at the table near the window. us Parker to book a table with such a lovely view. The first time I read his profile on Match, I knew he would be a man of taste. I can look out into the landscaped garden to my left, and if I look to my right I can see the door. I wonder if this was Parker’s intention, to sit here and watch me make my entrance. Of course, Parker would need to be here first, and he’s not. Still, he’s only seven minutes late. He couldn’t have known I’d be early due to nerves. He’s probably parking the car right now.
