Girl and the Moon

A Tale of Insomnia and Love

By Mahnoor QureshiPublished 3 years ago 3 min read

There was always a curious child, fascinated by the world around her. But as she grew older, she found that her curiosity often kept her up at night. She would lie in bed, staring at the ceiling, her mind racing with questions and ideas.

As the years went by, Girl's insomnia only grew worse. She tried everything from meditation to medication, but nothing seemed to help her fall asleep. She became increasingly frustrated and isolated, feeling as though no one understood what she was going through.

One night, as she lay awake yet again, girl decided to take a walk outside. The world was still and quiet, and the moon was shining brightly in the sky. As she looked up at it, something inside her shifted. She felt a sense of peace and comfort wash over her, as though the moon were reaching out to her, offering her a guiding hand.

Over the next few weeks, Girl found herself drawn to the moon more and more. She would spend hours sitting outside, watching it rise and fall, wax and wane. She began to learn about the moon's phases and cycles, and she was fascinated by how it affected the world around her.

As she learned more about the moon, Girl began to feel as though it were a friend. She would talk to it as though it were a living being, sharing her hopes and fears with it. She even began to write letters to the moon, pouring out her heart and soul onto the page.

One day, as she was sitting outside, gazing up at the moon, she heard a voice behind her. "What are you doing?" it asked.

Girl turned around to see a young man standing there. He was tall and thin, with dark hair and deep, searching eyes. She could feel his energy radiating off him, like a warm glow.

"I'm just looking at the moon," she said.

He nodded, and then he sat down next to her. They talked for hours, about everything from their childhoods to their hopes for the future. And as they talked, Girl realized that she was falling in love with him.

Over the next few weeks, Girl and the young man spent all their time together. They explored the city, went to concerts, and talked about everything under the sun. Girl felt as though she had finally found someone who understood her, who shared her passions and interests.

But one night, as they were lying in bed together, Girl found herself unable to sleep. She tossed and turned, her mind racing with thoughts of the future. The young man tried to comfort her, but she could tell that he didn't understand what she was going through.

In the end, Girl realized that she had been relying too much on the young man to fill the void in her life. She needed to find a way to deal with her insomnia on her own, to learn how to find peace and comfort within herself.

And so, she turned back to the moon. She began to meditate under its gentle light, and she found that she could quiet her mind and find a sense of inner stillness. She still struggled with insomnia from time to time, but now she knew that she had the strength and resilience to face it on her own.

Years went by, and Girl grew old. But no matter how much time passed, she never lost her love for the moon. Even as her eyesight began to fail and her body grew weak, she would sit outside and stare up at the sky, watching the moon as it rose and fell, waxed and waned.

And as she closed her eyes for the final time, she knew that the moon would always be there for her, shining down on her with its gentle, comforting light.
