An Unexpected Foot Exam

Recently, I told a friend about how much my feet had been hurting.

She works as a secretary at a podiatrist’s office and helped me schedule an appointment with a doctor she knew. I had met him once at her house during a holiday gathering, and she assured me he was great at what he did. She even asked him if he could check my feet after work one evening.

That day, my feet were already aching more than usual. I had recently bought new heels, and they weren’t fully broken in yet.

To make things worse, they were five-inch heels—higher than what I normally wear, which is usually three or four inches.

When I arrived at the office, a nurse led me down the hall, had me sit down, and took some information for the doctor. After a few minutes, she asked me to remove my shoes.

I won’t lie—it felt great to take them off after wearing them for nearly 10 hours. She took a quick look as I explained my discomfort, then led me to another area, instructing me to leave my coat and shoes behind.

At that point, I was barefoot, walking through the office, and wondering what would happen next.

When we entered the doctor’s office, the nurse had me lie down on an examination table with my feet hanging off the edge. I rested my head on a pillow, unable to see what was happening below.

She gently held one of my feet, examined it, then moved to the other. She mentioned that she needed to attach something to my toes as part of the process. I didn’t question it and let her continue.

A few minutes later, I felt something being placed around both of my big toes and between my index toes. Something about it felt off, but I told myself it was just part of the exam.

Then, I heard a faint clicking sound, followed by a tightening sensation around my toes. Shortly after, the nurse left, assuring me the doctor would be in soon.

Something didn’t seem right. After a few moments, I decided to sit up and take a look at what had been attached. To my surprise, I saw what looked like thumb cuffs locked around my big toes. I tried to tug at them, but as I suspected, they weren’t coming off. I was stuck.

Just then, my phone buzzed. It was a text from my friend.

"You’ve been set up."

She went on to explain that someone at the holiday party had noticed my feet and found them beautiful. He wanted a closer look and had arranged this little “appointment” to get the chance. According to her, I had agreed to it.

I wasn’t sure how to feel at first, but I had always been flattered when someone appreciated my feet.

A few minutes later, there was a knock at the door, and the doctor walked in. He immediately noticed that the nurse had securely fastened my toes, making sure I couldn’t move them.

As he sat down, I instinctively started tugging again, but there was no way I could break free. He smiled, took hold of both of my feet, and started lightly tickling my soles. I burst into laughter, trying to pull away, but there was nothing I could do.

He continued running his fingers along the bottom of my feet and between my toes as I squirmed, unable to escape. The tickling went on for what felt like forever, until finally, he stopped.

Then, he poured some oil onto my feet and began massaging it into my soles. He removed the cuffs and gave me a deep, relaxing foot massage—exactly what I needed after standing in heels all day. I leaned back, enjoying every second, telling him not to stop.

When he finally finished, he examined my feet properly and recommended orthotic insoles for my shoes since I spent most of my day standing.

To say this was an unexpected experience would be an understatement. But at the end of the day, I gained a new foot fan and had the best foot massage of my life.

P.S. Life has a funny way of surprising us, doesn’t it? What started as a simple foot exam turned into an unexpected yet unforgettable experience. Whether it was a setup or just good luck, I walked away feeling completely refreshed. Sometimes, the best moments come when we least expect them. Have you ever had a surprise like this? 😊
