Every Team Wants It, But Who Will Win it?

The World Cup is one of the most celebrated sports around the world, and will be watched very closely by many fans from many different countries. As beautiful as it is to just sit back and observe the beautiful game, every fan and team has one goal, for their country to win the World Cup. So here is a list of the teams most likely to win the World Cup, and the stars that will do it for them in Russia 2018.

10. Poland (Lewandowski)

The Whites and Reds

Poland is a team that is often underlooked and underestimated due to the history and lack of trophies as a team. Although their history does not work to prove their credentials, their new team does, especially with its star player Robert Lewandowski. With his 11 top scorer awards and title as a 7-time footballer of the year, it is not hard to see how Lewandowski, with the help of Poland's heavy-duty defence, can change the minds of doubters everywhere this World Cup.

9. Croatia (Perisic)

The Fiery Ones

Croatia is a strong team with an even stronger fan base, and their hard work and experience will definitely pay off in this year's World Cup. They have already proved their worth in International matches and with their players own league games. Perisic will definitely play a major role in Croatia's success, especially with the help of legends like Modric and Rakitic.

8. Wales (Gareth Bale)

The Dragons

Wales is definitely the underdogs on this list with a roster that is less than impressive, but they few stars they do have are game-changers. Throughout their past few games, Wales has proved the world wrong with their teamwork and performances. Not to mention, their all-star player, Gareth Bale, who proved his worth in the last Champions League Finals, scoring 2 goals for Real Madrid. All in all, although they are underdogs they have the ability to change the odds.

7. Mexico (Javier Hernandez)

The Tri-Colour

Mexico may not be a team expected to be on this list, but their hard work and ability to shock the world with their performances make them a notable team to watch this World Cup. Although they are lacking a star-studded roster, their teamwork and offense can make a huge difference for their position in the tournament. Players like Javier Hernandez ensure that Mexico has a fighting chance in winning Russia 2018.

6. England (Raheem Sterling)

The Three Lions

England has always been considered a team that can win the World Cup, but their lack of chemistry has often been a roadblock in their path to victory. This World Cup is different though as England's team seems to have more understanding and their players are now at their primes. Players like Sterling are capable and deserving of holding the cup, and with the help of the likes of Kane and Vardy, England has an amazing chance to win it.

5. Brazil (Gabriel Jesus)

The Little Canarys

Brazil always has a chance to win the World Cup, especially with their amazing history and passionate country. Sadly even with Brazil constantly being considered a runner-up to win, they have not actually won in a while, but there is a major difference now, Gabriel Jesus. Gabriel is an amazing striker and it can be seen with his work in Manchester City and soon during the World Cup. With Neymar and Marcelo by his side, Brazil's chances are higher than ever.

4. Portugal (Cristiano Ronaldo)

National Team of the "Quinas"

The European Champions, Portugal, have just a great chance as any to win the World Cup. They have constantly proved their worth as a team and with Ronaldo's record-breaking performances it's not hard to see how.

3. Germany (Toni Kroos)

Die Mannschaft

The previous World Cup winners, Germany, are still at the top of their game, with their amazing teamwork, and all around an amazingly skilled team. To add Toni Kroos has never been better and this talent will be seen in Russia 2018.

2. France (Antoine Griezmann)

The Blues

France is a powerful team of powerful players. Their performance in the last Euro Cup has proven their capability to win the World Cup and with their amazing roster, it is very much possible. Having a striker like Antoine Griezmann means that the other teams in the tournament might just be taking an L.

1. Spain (Isco)

La Furia Roja

Spain's building season is over, and with a team that has an outstanding defence, midfield and goal keeper it is not hard to see how Spain can win the World Cup. Although Spain is lacking an effective striker, other players like Koke, Thiago, Asensio and Ramos have the ability to score some outstanding, quality goals during the tournament. To add Isco has the ability to not only score but control the game and create some great plays, thus giving Spain the top spot on this list to be the most likely to win the World Cup in Russia 2018.

In Conclusion....

All of these teams have a very high chance of winning the World Cup, but it is important to remember that an important aspect of the beautiful game is it is unpredictable and therefore some of the other underdogs have a chance to win it. All in all, keep your eye opened on the World Cup because anything can happen.
