The Man Who Found a Painting Worth $100 Million in His Kitchen
A forgotten masterpiece hanging above the stove
By GoldenSpeechPublished 3 months ago • 1 min read

In 2019, a French woman decided to sell her house and called in appraisers to value her furniture.
Above her cooking space, they found a small dusty painting — saints, angels, the usual.
Turns out it was a 13th-century Cimabue, one of the earliest Italian masters.
It sold at auction for $108 million.
The woman had been cleaning it with a sponge for decades.
She thought it was just “grandma’s weird religious art.”
