The Girl in the Mirror Who Blinked First
You always think you’re the reflection — until you’re not.

Lila had always been told she stared at herself too much. “One day your reflection will get bored,” her grandmother warned.
On her sixteenth birthday, she noticed it — just for a second — her reflection blinked first. It smiled a little too long afterward.
The next morning, her reflection’s room looked different — darker, with wallpaper that didn’t match. It mouthed something she couldn’t hear.
Every day, her side of the glass grew dimmer. Her reflection’s world grew brighter. Until one night, the reflection pressed its palm against the mirror and whispered, “Trade you.”
When her parents found the mirror shattered, they only saw themselves reflected in the shards — smiling, but with someone else’s eyes.
