Look up to the sky and see birds in flight, taking your soul places that you never thought of.
Seagulls, who tell us that a storm is coming as they circle and call before the wind and rain follow them inland from their marine avian kingdom.
Swifts and Swallows so graceful as they criss-cross the sky as we watch from a garden or window.
Charming us with birdsong as we walk through a forest seeing a mother caring for her chicks in their nest, knowing that one day, those yet to fly will be part of some aerial display for our delight,
Watch a murmuration of starlings weaving the dreams of a child or princess in the ballet-like fabric of their precise journey, making shapes that instantly transform from one wondrous image to another, as though Athena, Minerva and Rhapso were creating a heavenly tapestry.
See the flights of birds and let your soul be lifted into the firmament and they take your spirit on journeys through the ether to make you feel one with nature.

These days he could barely go to the Conurbation at weekends, or brave the Headquarters corridors when neophytes were finishing their shifts, without one girl or other subjecting him to the same species of tease. Some show-off whose day couldn’t be complete until she’d made her male senior fidgety and restless. Then however, a boy at least had the option of refusing to play along – of stalking off, or just trying to ignore the temptation to look.

I live in Delaware and often hear sea gulls making noise over head. In all these years I didn't know they were telling us there was a storm coming. Thank you for the article. Next time I see and hear sea gulls I will check the weather. Nicely Done.
