The Titanic is being eaten away by its own specific type of bacteria called Honus Titanic, discovered in rusticles that resemble icicles. These little guys slowly eat away at the steel surfaces, causing mounds of rust to form, which then dissolve into fine powder. Add the immense water pressure, super cold temperatures, and salt, and you have the fast decay.
