Surgical removal of uterus, this usually complete excision of body. Fundus and Cervix of Uterus, though occasionally cervix may be left in place

In some cases Fallopian Tubes and Ovaries are removed as well ,known as Total Abdominal Hysterectomy and Bilateral Salpingo oophorectomy

Total Abdominal Hysterectomy:

Doctors removes Uterus not the Cervix through surgery that patient (female) not able to menstruate again known as TAH.

Bilateral Salpingo Oophorectomy:

According to its name bilateral which means both side so removal of both Fallopian tubes with ovaries on both side known as BSO.

Ovariotomy:

Its a surgical procedure in which removal of ovary or ovaries (enlarged ovaries or diseased ovaries) from female in order to protect other reproductive organ

These all above surgical procedure performed in patient who have reproductive malignancy.

Indication:

Family history of reproductive disorders

Endometriosis

Excessive bleeding

Absolute Contraindication:

Pregnancy

Acute or Subacute Pelvic inflammatory disease

Purulent Cervicitis

Abnormality of uterus

Unexplained Uterine bleeding

Active liver disease

Relative Contraindication:

History of pelvic inflammatory disease since last pregnancy

Menorrhagia

Severe dysmenorrhea

Uterine neoplasia

Young AdultHealth
