Discovering Islam: A Guide to Faith and Way of Life
What is Islam ?

What is Islam ?
• Islam is a monotheistic religion that comes from the Arabic roots , which refers to surrender or submission. Islam as a religion was established in the seventh century in Makkah by the Prophet Mohammed, who is regarded as the last of the prophets sent by Allah. The significant articles of faith in Islam are found in the Five Pillars which refer to one’s faith (Shahada), prayer (salat), fasting (sawm), alms (dukkaxt or Zakat), and pilgrimage to the holy Kaaba (Hajj).
• According to the tenets of Islam, Allah is all-knowing, all-seeing, all-benefactor and is the maker of the entire universe. The Quran, the Islamic religious text, is regarded as God's message to humanity and covers ideals, ethical behaviour, family relationships and industries, war, and social order, analysis, and more. Additionally, they follow regionally adapted teachings including religious texts known as Hadith comprising of Prophet actively proclaimed speech fundamentals.
• Consequently, the central aim of Islam is to accept how one lives his life without any contradictions to God’s wishes and guarantees security, love, and fairness to everyone. Readiness to be made accountable for one’s actions and deeds, and especially to God, is characteristic for beliefs of the most, if not all, Muslims whose primary objective in this world and the next is to meet God in Paradise.
