Dandelion Clocks
A Thoughtpiece

Once they were gold, vibrant, and wavering in the breeze, but now they are white wisps, waiting to be blown and tell the time while spreading their tiny seed umbrellas and parachutes.

As I child, I blew on a dandelion clock to tell the time, unaware i was spreading dandelion seeds far and wide. It made me and many others very happy.
Dandelions are wonderful plants and visually, they are pleasing to the eye, whether they are bright gold or ghostly white.
There are dandelions in my garden and flower beds, and what I once saw as a weed, I now see as friends, for me and bees and butterflies.
So take a walk out, tell the time on a dandelion clock, and wait for the next ones to appear.

Delightful story.I love dandelions, despite the fact that they are weeds ๐ณโฆ Iโve never heard them called Dandelion Clocksโฆ we called them Santa Claus Whiskers.๐คฃ
Great Song choice for this piece. Yard owners certainly don't like the dandelion when they flowers go away. Funny thing about it, when we blow on it , it plants itself . The thing we blow on is actually it's seeds
Every year, every mowing, just like clockwork.
That is poetic fiction indeed.Dandelions may be weeds, but are pretty!
Nice reflective piece, Mike! I loved this line: -what I once saw as a weed, I now see as friends, for me and bees and butterflies.- ๐คฉ A true appreciation of nature.
Dandelions are pretty and good eating as well. Good job. I wonder if anyone has ever planted a dandelion garden.
