Amongst the three figures, they looked at each other. Lisa broke from the gaze of the other two friends. She stepped towards a bench and just crumpled like a used tissue paper.
Ken exited the interrogation room and sat by Lisa. Loreen and Entrepreneur Paul exchanged glances.
“Babe. Everything’s going to be fine, the guy left—”
“I know. I’m just glad you’re clear of suspicion,” Lisa remarked.
“In all of this,” Entrepreneur Paul started, “I’m just glad we’re all together.”
“Yes, we have been through this whirlwind,” Loreen replied.
“I don’t have to give up a dime but I’m not giving an ounce of my company to anyone. I built it from the mud and I’m damn proud of it.”
“That’s right,” Devlin mentioned. “We’re going to find this guy and bring him to a place he’ll hate.”
Loreen walked over to Lisa. “We’ve been fighting injustice in the business world for this long, and now we’re going to fight for our own selfish concerns.”
“Thank you, Lor’.”
“It’s only right that we have a simple way of securing our own safety,” Devlin added.
The police chief came to Lisa. “We tracked a burner only so far. We did, however, find a way to be on the front ahead of the next transmission. We picked up on a ping in Lewes,” he explained.
“That’s comforting. Thank you,” Lisa responded with a bit of melancholy creeping into her voice.
Entrepreneur Paul walked to the opposite side of the room and swore under his breath. Loreen looked up at him but refrained from reprimanding him.
“Thank you, Chief. We’re prepared to take in any suggestions you may have.”
“Absolutely. As long as Miss Conway is safe, we’ll be able to have peace of mind regarding this investigation. We’ll be on the vanguard.”
