When Loreen and Lisa met at another consortium of minds, Common Man remained in the atmosphere.
“Hey,” he said to both women.
“You're a menace. There’s no ‘hey,’” Loreen fired back.
“I’m totally legal,” Common Man countered.
“Yes, but you’re a toxin morally,” Lisa spoke up.
“You’ve got me all wrong. The pestilence and famines and the butchering of millions of people, that was because of the lack of my morality.”
“No,” Loreen replied. “All of that came about because of your vicious doctrine. Everything you mentioned is a result of your monstrous ideas.”
Lisa stood tall with Loreen. “Tyreem Duggers, you are responsible for some of the most heinous crimes against humanity. Just look at any history book. Blood should leak from the pages.”
“Now, look who’s stuck in the past, Businessgirl. No! I’m new and up to date. Historically, the line of work I’m in may be questionable….”
“There is no question. People experienced torture and death because of your horrific system of thought,” Loreen mentioned icily.
“That’s all over. These businesses are going to find that the absence of money and the notion of taking from others what they produce is going to make the world shine.”
“The dimmest hours are all part of any of your ways of living.”
Common Man put a finger to his chin and looked up at the ceiling. “Let me see…your bloodsuckers and parasites and cronies all add up to a system that is totally rigged.”
Lisa stepped in this time. “You can be totally capitalist but you can’t be completely Communist.” Loreen and Duggers looked at her with astonishment. Duggers knew he couldn’t top that response.
“I’ve got more pressing issues at hand.” Defeat soaked his words. He tried to lift his head but put it down and darted away.
