The winds picked up as sunshine peeked through the clouds. Loreen, Lisa, and Entrepreneur Paul looked on as rioters stomped on private property.
“We must act,” Lisa announced. In her voice, a streak of trepidation colored it.
“Yes, but I don’t want a showdown with brutes,” Loreen replied. “There’s too much in our grasp. We don’t want to rush this.”
“I’m going over there,” Entrepreneur Paul Atkinson affirmed.
“No. Do not get on your chopper and kick up dust. Literally and figuratively. They want us to be the aggressors,” Loreen admonished.
“I think we’re past kicking up dust, Lor’. We have to show that we’re able to match their irrationality.”
“There’s an algorithm I can develop based on ending this insurrection and sending them to jail,” Lisa added.
“That sounds great, but we have to remember that we are dealing with people who don’t recognize reason. Their political expressions are only the runoff of their inability to absorb rationality as part of their lives.”
Lisa tapped at her smartphone, nonetheless. Entrepreneur Paul strapped on his helmet.
“Did either of you not hear a word I said? We stand down and wait for the cops to get here. They’re moving onto government owned property, now. There will be flash bangs, pepper bullets, and tear gas. If we get close to them, we’ll just be a nonfactor in all this.”
“I know that we’re going to be a factor,” Lisa argued with her boss.
“Oh?”
“I just drew up a set of instructions to allow law enforcement to engage with the rioters. All we have to do is send this set to the police agencies of Wilmington, New Castle County, and the state to quell this raging, violent display,” she related.
The sound of Entrepreneur Paul’s chopper echoed around them. He revved.
