The display of federal dollars spent on declared natural disasters in the history of Delaware illuminated on the screen. The First State placed last in this particular statistic.

“You see? The Diamond State has experienced the least amount of these things caused by who what,” Director of Atmospheric Conditions (DAC) Russell Corer related to Entrepreneur Paul. He was tall and dark as a phone’s screen once switched off. He had a military background as a retired general officer in the Space Force.

“If something would happen it wouldn’t be the government who would prevail. In storm’s past, in quake’s past, in other natural phenomena that damaged or destroyed lives and property, it was the private organizations that did the most help.”

“How so?”

Among other channels, the supply chain from megastores have proved to be a tremendous benefit. The profit motive from greedy, selfish businessmen and businesswomen is at the crux of saving people and things from desperation and ruin.”

Corer looked at him. He started completing algebra problems in his head to match the words that Atkinson spouted.

“So the federal government of the United States of America should play no role in natural disasters?”

“Yes, and it’s the only thing that the State should do: protect individual rights and property.”

A smile started out at the corner of Corer’s mouth. Then, just as quickly, a frown painted his face.

“But the government is…it has to provide.(...”

“To whom? For what? Why?”

Corer looked like his yellowish eyes would ooze from their sockets. “But it can’t be that way, that is….”

“A free market? Liberty?” Atkinson asked.

“Blasphemy.”

Entrepreneur Paul would have laughed except the gravity of the situation demanded him to do otherwise.

“Private entities move faster, smarter, and provide the greatest amount of relief in a disaster.”

I don't know what to say but I am completely 280 degrees from individualism and free for all no rules no laws. It doesn't work. I would talk to Loreen on her face. But hey this is a fictional story
