Fascinder snorted. He looked at the tariffs on the table sent down by the federal government. A nasty grin curled around his face. This is what he waited for in life. He shot out of his chair like a rusty spring popping out of a mattress. With his own plans, he outlined the possibilities of a truly fascist State.

A pot of old, cold coffee somehow warmed his mind. Sketch after sketch yielded figures which he would influence those in high offices. By knowing that tariffs are essentially taxes levied against countries, this felt like a sweet spot. He didn’t add sugar to his chilly coffee.

Instead, he just drank the cold liquid as if it were nectar. When he had reached a point where he could stop the wheels from grinding in his head, he relaxed. With the government allowing for trade to occur between individuals but heavily controlled and regulated, Fascinder rejoiced. He kicked his feet up as he plopped into his easy chair.

He turned on the news and watched as a republic slowly eroded. This is what he wanted. Not only for the state of Delaware, Fascinder wanted the entire country and the world to burn. A page taken out of Nitwit Nihil’s book, he relished the idea of just seeing destruction for its own sake.

As he gathered all his materials, he felt what he did amounted to a great deal. Every scrap of his being cheered on the fact that everyone will be left poorer with these tariffs. A gruff sound emitted from his throat that wasn’t a cough or laugh but something in between. Some sips of his room-cooled coffee brought him to a different state altogether. As he reveled in this victory against the individual, he kept going despite the sour taste.
