From Friendship to Something More
As we walked out from the theatre, I felt something in my mind. I asked her something. She answered me with a smile. As she was smiling, her eyes were getting smaller. That time I felt my hear racing. It was like a butterfly rushing through my body. We both started walking on the road. As I was walking a brisk wind swept through the street, sending a shiver down my spine. Seeing her walking beside me, my immediate thought was, 'I wanna hold her hand.' I quickly snapped back to reality. 'Get a grip on yourself, man. She is your friend,' I thought. I still think about it. So I finally built up the courage and planned to propose to her. I looked into the mirror and started practicing. I was continually walking and talking. I will say, 'Will you—arrgh!' I took a deep breath. I will say, 'Will you go out with me? I know I am not the perfect guy, but I hope you can bear with me.' I can't belive I am here. My heart is beating rapidly. Don't mess this up. I am walking towards her. She says, 'Hey, how is your day going?' I say, 'As usual, what about you?' She says, 'Well, same. I have some stories to tell you.' I say, 'I also have something to tell you.' She says, 'Ok.' Now it is time, man. Say it. I say, 'Bear out with me.' She gives me a confused look and says, 'Huh?' I say, 'Let's grab a meal.' We walk into a restaurant and sit at one table. We order our meal. She keeps talking. Our food comes. We start talking and eating. Suddenly she asks me, 'So when are you gonna ask me out?' I choke on my meat pie. I say, 'Was it obvious?' She says, 'We have been hanging out multiple times and we also went to the movies.' I seriously don't know what to say as it is sudden. Maybe you guys can help me.

Utopia Is Unachievable
In Lois Lowry's The Giver, the pursuit of perfection leads to the revelation that by creating a seemingly utopian world by eliminating suffering, more is lost than gained. The narrative traces the experiences of a twelve year-old protagonist who seeks to overcome the control imposed upon him by his totalitarian government and bring back the vibrancy and uniqueness that once existed. By trying to pursue such Utopian ideals, their society is stripped of diversity and individuality. Similarly, Lowry depicts a world that is heavily monitored and regulated. All the citizens are easily manipulated and conform to the numerous rules that they are presented with. Whilst majority of the community is oblivious to the sinister side of their seemingly utopian world, the protagonist has access to memories of the past and is faced with immense pain and the deep knowledge of their dystopian world.

Cover Reveal & Sneak Peak
Chapter One Trek It, Girl Anabel The light of the sun was fading - and quickly. With the cascading pine trees reaching toward the heavens at heights that terrified Anabel, the idea of darkness quickly descending kind of tugged at her with a gnawing degree of concern. She wasn’t used to this - not in the least. Anabel had been raised in the Midwest among the plains and in a place, she had to get away from as soon as life would allow it. It so happened, that came with the crisp envelope that held her acceptance letter to the University of Oregon. It was the moment Ana had been waiting for since girlhood, and much to her parents’ dismay there was nothing that would hold her back. Ana instinctively tightened her fingers on the steering wheel glancing at the car gauges and immediately groaned upon noting the external temperature outside was a brisk -3 degrees.

The Masquerade of Time
Chapter One: The Bourbon Hotel Chill bumps rose up on my flesh. I couldn't shake it either - there was some kind of strange cool sensation washing over my tawny skin and I felt instantly cold. Odd - because it was hardly the time of year that one expects sudden rushes of cold. It was still early for an Autumn breeze to be hitting but somehow my body was feeling frigid, and it made me up my pace a bit. I enjoyed my evening walks through the Quarter.
