Alternatives and First Impressions for ABH Norvina
Disclaimer: If you’re a die hard fan of ABH or Norvina, please feel free to leave. If I had to choose one brand per product or even everything, it would be ABH. I legit have more stuff from them than anyone else. I love the quality, but I do not like the road they are going down. It is my opinion and I solely speak as a customer who is simply looking at the palette from a conscious buyer’s perspective.

New Face and Confidence With Semi-Permanent Makeup
What if there was a way for your face to always be ready to go, no matter the situation? There is, it’s called micro-blading or powder brows, depending on the procedure that is chosen. To learn more about this process, I talked with New Face owner Christine Hwang about all things semi-permanent makeup. She was also kind enough to let me sit in on a session where she tattooed eyebrows on to a client. It was an eye-opening experience.

11 Things I Don’t Like About Makeup Palettes
Disclaimer: I am a collector of eyeshadow palettes and lipsticks. But just because you have the freedom to spend money on some materialistic happiness does not mean you should not think through your purchase. Even if I was rolling in money, I would still be a conscious buyer. Not because I am stingy. Not because I am a cheapskate. Not because I can’t afford it. Having money does not justify hoarding. I know that if I don’t like something right off the bet, the probable chances of me using it regularly are nill. Having said that, I do NOT want to add to garbage, waste, landfills. We are very conscious about animal rights in the makeup world these days (which is an extremely good thing). But we should also take all steps possible that will help out our Mother Earth. At the end of the day some of these reasons may not make sense, or are biased. But the results are very practical for my wallet, a mess free home, and most importantly, the environment. I have not talked about any particular brands and have no intention throw shade at any brands indirectly. Many brands exemplify all of my points, so stay calm in your pants. I do not take any responsibility for hurt sentimentalities, except to say that it was completely unintentional.

Monthly Subscription Boxes for $10 or Less
Makeup, skincare products, and accessories to enhance our beauty become costly. Most of us want to explore new products, but paying for a full-sized product without knowing whether you will like it can be expensive and wasteful.

The Picture That Spoke a Few Thousand Characters
Meaningless notifications from the Linkedin app led me to my girlfriends profile; A beautiful black woman. After 10 seconds of scrolling the news feed, then 20 seconds of adding random people with cool pics, and titles, I see her. I had never seen this picture, and I was filled with a weird anxious feeling. I get like this whenever she posts pictures on Social Media, which is rare. Her popping up on my feed, is like an Easter Egg in a Marvel movie, or actually seeing a unicorn walk down the street. Its always a rare sighting, and I'm always freaked out for some reason. I texted her to tell her how beautiful the picture was, and how I felt seeing it, and then some more compliments; that I hope she enjoyed as well. I closed the apps, and went back to listening to The Book of Five Rings by Miyamoto Musashi on YouTube.

Ten Brands Sephora Should Consider
Disclaimer: I am a customer who likes to test out what she’s purchasing. And at the very least, I like to have the assurance that I can go to a physical store ASAP and return something I ordered online because I did not like it. In terms of makeup, for me Sephora is the preferable option, for online shopping and in store returns. But for you, that could be Ulta. I realize that Ulta is better than Sephora for many of you out there who have access to the store. Unfortunately, I cannot speak to that end because I do not have access to an Ulta. Nonetheless, the gist is that I would love for these brands to have a physical store safe-proof. For me, it’s Sephora, for you it might be something else. Really depends on where you live.

This Summer's Red Hot Palette
Maybelline New York’s “The Burgundy Bar” Palette was first mentioned on Instagram almost a year ago with limited availability. It was first marketed in select European areas and has just become a product that I could go to the local Wal-Mart and buy.
