Harlem Artist R3FRENCE Releases His First Single of 2020 “Apocalove”
From R3FRENCE Thank God for artists. I wanted the cover art for my upcoming single to have a warmth. MayBe So was about trauma, but Apocalove is about trust. Through her gorgeous oil painting, @mdexna_ is helping capture that. And you’ll be able to see the finished product while you’re listening to the new track this Wednesday. These lyrics were not written during the pandemic—but we could all use a warm hug right now. Hopefully, this song will feel like one. Finally, we can love again. I’m thinking of you like normal. Let this preview keep you warm until our meeting can be formal.

Why Dua Lipa's "Don't Start Now" Is a Pop Masterpiece
Pop music is something that I can admit, at times, I am not fully versed in. There have been countless times when I’ll tune into Spotify’s hits list and I’ll be completely lost. Who are these names? Who are these features? I generally like pop oriented songwriting, but I find that a lot of pop music contains elements of songwriting that do not appeal to me. Yet, I still come back to pop music expecting at least a few great songs to come from it, and I’m always right. I generally find a good amount of songs to appreciate and maybe even add to my playlists.

Song Review: Whiny Lyrics Overshadow Solid Disco Pop of Level of Concern
If you thought ghosting was bad, imagine someone using the quarantine as a method of break-up. That’s kind of the premise of the new Twenty Pilots jam, Level of Concern. In the song, the singer wants his beloved to address his level of concern regarding their relationship. She appears to ignore his plea and he becomes more and more desperate, paranoid and concerned as the song goes on.

Musical Digest: Winnetka Bowling League "Kangaroo"
The song I'd like to digest today is a riveting gem "Kangaroo" by Winnetka Bowling League, a California-based indie band. Its lead singer, Matthew Koma, is a talented singer/songwriter/producer that has worn many hats, dipped his toes in many genres ranging from punk rock, pop, EDM and now cultivated his own project.

Song Review: 'Bigger Love' is the Song We Need Right now
After experiencing Drake’s nihilistic capitalism on Toosie Slide and the soullessness Doja Cat’s Say So, John Legend’s Bigger Love is the perfect palette cleanser. Bigger Love is a breath of fresh pop air after gagging on the most recent entries in my music review career. Bigger Love sounds modern in ways so many other pop stars have rejected lately. Legend fuses afro-beats, reggae and R & B in a tasty pop gumbo.

Song Review: 'Say so' By Doja Cat is the Worst Song of the Year
Why do I hate this so much? That’s what this review will attempt to uncover. What is it that makes me utterly loathe Doja Cat’s Say So? Even when I reviewed Toosie Slide by Drake I didn’t actively wretch while listening to it. That’s just a bad song. Say So transcends being merely bad into a realm of awful that I am not sure I have experienced before. The lyrics are incomprehensible, the beat turns disco into a death march and that rap break! My God, that rap break. The horror… The horror.

Musical Digest: Brad Varsity, Cafe Disko, FVNTVNV "Ain't Nobody Perfect"
Every once in a while comes a ballad that stops you in your tracks. When that happens it's usually accompanied by an outburst of goosebumps trudging down your spine because that one person that you've lost or forgotten about is suddenly here...right in front of you.
