Did Travis Scott's Astroworld Contribute To Another Round of Satanic Panic?
If you haven't seen, the music festival Astroworld that occurred in Houston, TX this past weekend unfortunately turned into tragedy. 8 concertgoers were left dead (with many more injured) after fans of Travis Scott carried out his typical "crowd surge" by storming forward to the stage - leaving fans crushed, suffocating, and gasping for air. While Scott has since made a statement and apologized for the events, many are calling for him to be held responsible for the lives lost, as well as the concert promoter Live Nation.

That's Not Your Style
A little bit of context before this story starts: This was a writing experiment I wrote for a creative writing last a few months ago. The challenge was to grab a random setting and a random mood and write a story based off of it. We were supposed to write some of our own settings and moods and then pull them out of random.org to see what we got. The results I wrote down that were ultimately chosen for me were "uninspired" and "filming a YouTube video during the week." Here's what I came up with.

Saved for Later
Ads on social media involving shopping have never personally captured my attention. Usually, when I shop for something, I hear about a book, a movie, or a CD unavailable on streaming services and search for it on Amazon. I don't remember a single ad for a product that I've seen on social media, and I've certainly never bought a novelty item through one of those ads. Before a couple of weeks ago, the ads I usually clicked on weren't shopping ads. They were ads promoting an upcoming album or single from an artist. The strange part to all of this: I usually didn't click on them to listen to the song.

Rebel in search of a Cause
It is no secret that this year like the one before, has been hard on a lot of people. We started off like we always do: jonesing for a fresh start with high hopes for the future. Bright eyed and overly optimistic, I was determined to make a bigger transition to full- time artist. Not just as a singer, but I know my talents lie elsewhere that could potentially be lucrative as well. Every artist’s dream is to say they live off their “art” and I am not ashamed to admit that mine is no different. Although, that concept has changed for me throughout the years.

Harsh
A 22 year old upcoming artist by the name of SvnDwn has recently dropped a new track titled "Harsh" that has caught my attention. A Staten Island, New York artist has really brought out a new side of him we've never seen before. He stated that "I made this song months ago at the start of lockdown, this is me putting out some emotion towards a situation that has happened to me one too many times. I have had people betray my trust or destroy my faith in them by going on about me in the most negative way possible. This song was more of a response to these situations and letting go of all that negative energy." You can feel the energy straight from the gate on this track. From the dark eerie beat (beat credit @ZEETERNAL_) he comes in with a melodic flow and goes in from there. He starts to switch it up and starts some screaming vocals and echoed adlibs. I really enjoyed the screaming on the track it matched the hard vibe going on. I enjoy when artist come out of their shell and bring something completely different to the table that we sometimes don't see coming. I asked him "Why'd he named the song "Harsh""? He said "The song is called harsh mainly because I know if I said any of that stuff I was thinking at this point in time they would say it was "harsh" lol." I personally love versatile artist who show us all different styles specially in no particular order. I feel this song will bring joy to the listeners because a lot of people can relate to the emotions he's feeling in this song. In a recent interview he's said that artist and groups like "My early influences are like slipknot, paramore, panic at the disco and Dance Gavin Dance . In my solo career it’s been people Joji, JPEGMAFIA, scarlxrd, Raleigh Ritchie, Denzel Curry and juice wrld.” You can really see the rock influences in this song.

Check Them Out
If you are a person who loves to hear people sing then I have something for you to think about checking out. On Facebook, there is a group called Quarantine Karaoke. If you type in the name into the search bar then you will find the group. Next, become a member to hear some awesome folks. There are people from all age groups singing in this group. If you look above the screen where it shows the person singing it will show the information needed to look them up. The person or persons singing or playing music will mention this to you in their area.

Hesitation? Frustration? Bedroom production!
Prologue YouTube can be anything. It can be your go-to search engine, radio, or the source of income if you are a content creator. Living in the era of YouTube and social media, I've always been a passive user. Whenever I tried to share my contents, whatever it may be, there has always been hesitation and frustration. What an introverted social media anxiety! YouTube nowadays is like a global talent show, and its curtain is wide-open 24/7. Recently, I had a priceless experience to walk up to the stage from the auditorium, ironically, thanks to YouTube. Here's my story.

Thanks Tik Tok for these songs.
We can all thank Tik tok for wasting our time in the best ways, but we can also thank them for the countless songs we either have heard before but forgot, or are brand new to. I have found old songs that have been remixed that become my favorite, and then I find new songs that are just too good to not listen to. I will be letting you guys in on my favorite tik tok songs, and of course I will be dancing while doing this blog post, so enjoy, and dance along. Also, there is a lot of exposing myself in this blog, and I honestly could write a whole book about my favorite tik tok songs because I am constantly finding new songs, and new remixes from youtube...... I listen to youtube music more than anything at night when I am trying to write, podcast or work on a few other things. But to get to the point, I could write a whole book but I chose 15 to start with. I will be making this a weekly maybe a daily and holy smokes lofi music is cosmic..... So be on the lookout, because I literally want to make a whole playlist of just tik tok songs but half of my favorite ones are on youtube and are remixed... So that is why there is no playlist.. OK, you're probably tired of me rambling so here's some new music to add to your spotify, and be on the lookout for more posts like this!
