Season Finale Spotify: Mic Check Music Podcast
Music isn’t simply an entertainment medium. It also has the ability to inspire, motivate and energize. In perhaps no other nation in the world can music play such a pivotal role as in Ukraine. Under attack by Russia, an authoritarian regime with visions of resurrecting its empire, the nation is fortunate to have Ukrainian rapper and frontman of Kalush Orchestra Oleh Psiuk. Polymath Actor, Recording Artist, and Filmmaker Amir Royale Releases His ‘Stories of the Lost, Rich & Tormented’ EP
From Amir Royale Sophomore year, NYU Tisch’s Clive Davis Institute, 2017. I created the concept of Stories of the Lost, Rich & Tormented as a "Writing the Hit Song: Deep Cutz" homework assignment. Over the course of 14 weeks, I crafted and reworked about 12 or so ideas. Suddenly, my songwriting professor at the time (Eren Cannata of Cove City Sound Studios, Facethouse Records & Warner Chapel Music), directed us to use all the content we created thus far to formulate an EP. This project would then become one we’d pitch and present to potential A&R scouts. It was our final project. I curated 5 of my best records across the class to showcase a conceptual narrative and description of greed, lust, and youth insecurity within American culture. It is the final entry within my four-EP-long music chronicle (dating back to my 2015 EP, This Is for You.). To let this project go free finally—feels like a blessing. Thank you.

Yo Gotti Vs. Gucci Mane: Groups Only
If Swizz and Tim wanted to have a real Verzuz, they would feature Yo Gotti and Gucci Mane as a mogul against mogul battle. The Alabama native Gucci and Memphis son Gotti would not rap their long list of essentials, however. They would showcase their artists from The New 1017 Records and Collective Music Group (CMG), respectively.

Soulja Boy, Shaq and The Million-Dollar Bank Note
Soulja Boy has always been a lightning rod for claims both true and false. He once said he was the first rapper to be on YouTube…that was true. He asserted that he was the first to wear a Versace robe in the Versace store…that was true. Amongst a multitude of true claims, he has been called out by no one other than Shaq on a rare falsehood.
