Not All Witches Are Bad!
I recently learned I may have been a witch in my past life... which explains a lot. Apparently if you have brown, patchy birth marks and an affixiation for fire, there's a chance you may have been burned at the stake in a past life. At least that's what TikTok told me.

A Hard Day’s Fright
VOCAL: Graveyard Smash One of the benefits of being fifty-one years old is that I have amassed quite a catalog of music. Aside from what I actually own, I enjoy a wide variety of genres, with my favorite probably being 70’s and 80’s rock. I’m also a huge movie fan, and horror movies have always held a special place in my heart. I know it sounds weird: why would someone want to be deliberately scared? I wish I had a good answer to that. But being scared, or even just being thrilled and titillated with anticipation, is fun to me. Being scared makes me feel alive. And what’s better that curling up with your BFF or your better half and holding onto each other for dear life because of a scary movie or TV show?

Have a Haunting Halloween
Let me set the scene for you: you've received an invitation to a Haunted Halloween dinner party with your most ghoulish acquaintances. You don a Victorian-era wedding dress and apply makeup to transform yourself into Emily, the Corpse Bride from Tim Burton's film.

Hallow-WINNING
I've never been one to enjoy scary movies. I've never appreciated the feeling of adrenaline rushing through my body, unbidden, from sudden fright. Yet that's not all Halloween is, is it? It's not just about being scared, it's about the pageantry. Besides the candy, I'd say the éclat is my favorite part. One of the best ways to experience it is with a large gathering: a party.

Spooksville
It’s not Halloween if you’re not dancing! Doesn’t matter if you’re grooving in your living room, if your in a makeshift dungeon (that’s actually your friends basement) or an actual night club in Berlin- if the music isn’t right you’re not having a good time! Holiday events already have enough pressure on them to be something, but really it comes down to the music and the lighting set up. The darker the better.

Lloyd’s Uber Scary Halloween Playlist
“Create the soundtrack for the ultimate Halloween party.” Not just a challenge. A challenging challenge. Halloween, after all, doesn’t have the same wellspring of music as Christmas, yet a party requires more than a single song, like a “Happy Birthday” for a birthday party. And what of the tone? A Halloween party, conceivably, includes a wide range of participants – children, boisterous adults, wallflowers, the undead – each with their own musical tastes.

ECLECTIC MIX SEPTEMBER 21
Well it’s been a month of real opposites. We continued into a small short heat wave again, and had temperatures hitting the mid 20’s if you can believe it. Yip Scotland (well the central belt) was practically tropical! However like all good things they end, and the wet, windy weather that so stereotypical of Scotland reared its head again. The tree’s green’s gave way to all shades of red, gold and browns, before litterying our pavements and roads. But the flipside, its a great excuse to get used to the colder weather, and wrap up warmer, and take comfort sitting on the couch or being warm and cozy in bed while the wind and rain batter’s the windows.

Monster Mash
Ever since hearing songs like "Monster Mash," "Thriller," and my childhood Peter Pan 45 Record, "Dinner with Drac," I have loved Halloween, monsters and mayhem. I am certain that my Sister's theater acting, love of monster make-up, horror films, and Vincent Price; as well as, my Uncle's brilliant Halloween decoration displays, also had an impact on me.
