A Warrior's Path
As an avid fan of Hip-Hop and Old School R & B, those are normally my go to genres when it comes to music. Although as a writer and a thinker most of the time the preference to center my zen comes in the form of film scores or instrumentals. We live in a world where there are so many distractions and unwanted noise that a time for just sitting still and allowing the space for composers and instruments to tell a story without words can be peaceful and soothing.

The Death Story Playlist
I’m a writer; I love story. So when I think of a playlist, I love songs that have stories in them. And when I look for a playlist that, during COVID, helps me to relax, and realize that things really could be worse--I like a playlist of songs that include stories of death.

A Whole Made of Pieces
Music for me has always been a place of refuge, where the melodic tones can soothe my mind and provide a calm harbor in the tumultuous waters of life. I am sharing a playlist that is a port of call for when I need to reset, restore, and remember what really matters. The songs of A Whole Made of Pieces may stir up memories and a sense of self and purpose, or simply take me to a slower tempo and more harmonious state of mind:

My Hot 100 - #50 - 26
Well, it's time for Part 3 of my countdown of my 100 favorite songs of all time. If you need to catch up, here are the links for Part 1 and Part 2. Just to refresh your memory, no genre is excluded from consideration, only one song per artist would make the cut, and if a performer had success as a soloist and with a band, that counts as two separate artists.

Music = Mood
Does your mood change you music or vice-versa? Like most people I have music for moods and moods for music. You know, when you are doing something specific and you end up skipping how many ever songs to find the right one to suit you in that exact moment and mood. Maybe sometimes you're driving down the road and that specific song that you have been thinking about comes on. Or when your shuffle play is not playing what you want to hear. I know, I know, our music device is supposed to be able to read our mind but only ads know what we are thinking...
