America has come a long way in a short period of time; however, we still have some more ground to cover when it comes to accepting all people no matter their creed or sexuality. A month full of awareness and support is a great way to demonstrate support for our LGBTQ communities, as well as being made aware of the struggles they still face in feeling comfortable openly in society amongst the so called 'normal' people.

A Teenager's Way
I was 15 years old and I was just so into myself and the little friends that I did have and didn't care what my parents thought. I had so much on my hands, so much homework, chores, family outings, and had to watch my annoying little cousins every other weekend. I had a lot on my plate as a teenager and it seemed as if I never had time for myself. I could only see my friends at school but I hated school so much in junior high that they thought it would be better for me to be homeschooled. I was all for it when it first started but then I found myself disliking it more and more. At least at school, I would be able to get out of the house and not be home all day every day of the week. Yes, I had little social life with the few friends I used to hang out with when I was in school and it was the beginning of becoming anti-social. I'm the type of girl who is shy as it is, I always did what was asked of me and was always a person to always be on point with everything. I was getting so tired of it but always went along with it. When Junior High School was over and it was time to move on to High School I was so happy that I only had 3 years left, and then I can finally make my own decisions in life. It was summertime and I finally could do whatever I wanted unless we had family plans.

The Ultimate Playlist
My obsession with playlists started back in the bad old days of cassette players. I would borrow my grandmother's dual tape radio player and would spend hours listening to the radio, waiting for my favorite songs to play in order to lunge at the record button. I'm pretty sure there's a word in German for the feeling of crushing disappointment you have when you manage to catch your new favorite song only to run out of tape before the song is over. I made grainy, choppy, staticky mixtapes for everything. Mixtapes for waking up in the morning, mixtapes for homework, mixtapes for sleeping, you name it. If it was even remotely noteworthy, I probably had a mixtape for it. I tried to catch every fleeting emotion and transcribe it into the vocabulary of Dick Casey's top 40.

5 Songs for the Broken Hearted '90s Teen
Oh, the days of being a teenager, when we thought we were so grown up but didn’t really know anything. When our hormones were stronger than our brains, and everything felt like a life or death situation, at least when it came to romance. We were trying to figure out our place in the world, who we liked - and who we didn’t, what we wanted to be “when we grow up,” and started testing the concept of independence.

Ryan Tedder is Producing The Brazilian Pop Star Anitta's New Album "Girl From Rio".
After releasing her new single Girl From Rio on April 30th, the Brazilian pop star Anitta presented her new song to Today Show, NBC, and Jimmy Kimmel Live, ABC. Fusing traditional bossa nova with trap melodies, the single pays tribute to Brazilian women and samples the '60 hit "Garota de Ipanema" ("The Girl From Ipanema"). The lyrics of the English-language track show a fewer glamourous Rio than the one delivered by Bossa Nova to the world in 1962. Girl From Rio has a great summer vibe where Anitta presents her perception of her hometown.

angst. angst. weird word.
Some musicians realise early that the real instrument is you. So as well as practicing chords, runs, arpeggios they're gauging their effect on you. You can't notate that skill. You can't describe it in any detail, you can barely teach it.

A Generation of Angst. Top Story - May 2021.
In 1985, I was about 14 years old and in the eighth grade. Where I come from, we have Junior High schools, so I spent three years in Junior High, seventh, eighth, and ninth grade. Looking back there were some of the most angsty and defining moments of my life.
