Rock Goes Opera
Introduction This is a sort of follow-up to my piece on artists who took classical music and tried to hammer it in ways that the original composer never intended. You can read that here before you go on to explore this piece of mine.

CONCERT TIME
Over 35 years of concert going I appear to be in the minority, those that want to see the first support and anyone that follows. The venues rarely seem more then half full when the first band appears. Then you can find that something wonderful happened and half the audience weren't there.

A Short Stop At The Skipton Sound Bar
Introduction A few years back ( probably more than a few) we discovered the Skipton Sound Bar. Back then it was essentially a second-hand music shop with a small bar and they were always playing Jeff Wayne's "War Of The Worlds", not a favourite of mine. At the time my vinyl collection was smaller than it is now and I managed to lay my hands on an original of Jethro Tull's "Thick As A Brick" complete with the full broadsheet newspaper cover. According to the band, putting together the newspaper took more time and effort than the actual album, which is still very good.

Lorna shore
Last night I joined my brother and 1500 others to see Lorna shore headline a four band bill in Cardiff, wales. Hardcore metal and thrash metal is drawing some decent crowds by matching decent bands on multi band bills and having quick changeovers to guarantee as much music as possible.
