Nobody's Hero
The news was released today that my hero had died on Tuesday, after a battle with brain cancer. Neil Peart, arguably the most talented drummer, and lyricist to ever walk the earth in the entirety of human history succumbed to his illness. The news did not break until Jan 10th, which to the millions of his fans came as no surprise. He died in the way he lived, quietly, privately, and without the fanfare we would all like to give him. Despite his rather quiet nature, he did author 6 books that were a glimpse into his life, his process, his pain, and his deeply introspective nature.

Is Ozzy Dying? No - He's Going On Tour
To paraphrase Mark Twain, reports of Ozzy Osbourne's death have been greatly exaggerated. Radar Online, according to several sources, has reported that the Black Sabbath frontman, who struggled with addiction for years and had some medical struggles stemming from a fall in 2019, is in a really bad place, health wise. According to an unnamed source, Ozzy is "begging to be put out of his misery!"

R.I.P. Juice WRLD
I woke up to the saddest news this morning. Unfortunately, A member of the Hip-Hop community has been lost today. On Sunday, December 8, 2019 Rapper known as Juice WRLD born Jarod Higgins, has passed away at the age of 21. He reportedly died after having a seizure at Chicago’s midway airport after getting off a plane from Los Angeles. So far, no official cause of death has came out but reports have been proven that they were drugs found on the plane. He has no been no stranger to drugs and has been very open to his pill addiction. It has been promoted in songs and clear examples of those are like “Lean with Me,” “Realer n Realer” and “Hear me Calling.” This saddens me the most because Juice WRLD was from my hometown of Chicago, Illinois. I feel like he helped influence the sound of Chicago Hip-hop in a great way. He was one of the leading figures in hip hop today due to his incredible freestyle and great music. This made me think of what I hope young people can learn from leading forward in life.

10 Artists That Should've Won Artist of the Decade
1. Selena Gomez was at least a better option than Taylor. (2010) Selena Gomez was my childhood idol. In 2010 she released her A Year Without Rain album. The album included our favorite hits: "A Year Without Rain," "Round & Round," and "Live Like There's No Tomorrow." In 2011 she released When the Sun Goes Down leaving us with her catchy song, "Love You Like a Love Song." In 2013 she released her album, Stars Dance. This album sent us into a repeating Gomez spiral with "Come & Get It" stuck in our head and "Slow Down" on replay. In 2014 she released For You. This album included all our previous favorites and introduced "The Heart Wants What it Wants" and "Naturally." Mid-decade she released her fire album, Revival. This album included fan favorites: "Good for You," "Kill'em with Kindness," "Hands to Myself," and "Same Old Love." In 2015 she also became the face of Pantene hair products. In August 2016 Selena cancelled half of her tour because of anxiety, panic attacks, and depression caused by her lupus. At the 2016 American Music Awards Selena received Favorite Pop/Rock Female Artist. In 2017 she collabed with Kygo and created the single, "It Ain't Me." Not to mention she created her single, "Bad Liar," which turned out to be everyone's song of the summer in 2017. Following that she created Fetish with Gucci Mane and Wolves with Marshmello. In 2018 she made single, "Back to You." In the beginning of 2019 she created "I Can't Get Enough" with Benny Blanco, Tainy, and J Balvin. Throughout the rest of this year she released two sneak peaks from her upcoming album we will see January 10, 2020. She let us hear "Lose You to Love Me" and "Look At Her Now," which if her upcoming album is as good as these two songs, it's gonna be fire.

Dear Taylor Swift: We Stand by You
Before you start thinking I've cracked by saying that #TaylorSwift has had a tough year, hear me out. We have this illusion that wealth ensures you have no problems. There are many who seem to be under this somewhat misguided belief that if you're rich and popular, you have no right to complain.

Shakira: Once Only a Latino Act, She Is Now a True Staple of Globalization . Top Story - November 2019.
I first heard Shakira in 1995 while accompanying my mother as she ran some errands. Sitting in the backseat of the car, I took interest in a song which began to play on the radio. The musical style of the song was familiar; similar to the songstress aesthetic of the 90's crafted by artists such as Joan Osborne, Alanis Morissette, and Jewel. However, the voice was not familiar whatsoever. What was more surprising is that she was singing in Spanish.
