Introduction To Off The Wall Elvis Presley Related Stuff I was shocked to get a Vocal Top Story for my Viva Elvis piece which you can sample below. I haven’t a clue why it was chosen but maybe somebody still appreciates Elvis Presley also known as The King.

The Assassination of John Lennon
On the evening of December 8th 1980, English musician John Lennon, formerly of the Beatles, was shot and fatally wounded in the archway of The Dakota, his residence in New York City. His killer was Mark David Chapman, an American Beatles fan who was incensed by Lennon's lavish lifestyle and his comment that the Beatles were "more popular than Jesus". Chapman said he was inspired by the fictional character Holden Caulfield from J. D. Salinger's novel The Catcher in the Rye, a "phony-killer" who despises hypocrisy.

Learning About Loonasik
In 2021 , I went to a show in Louisville Kentucky. I had heard one of Loonasik’s earlier projects but never had saw him perform. That changed in November of 2021. I heard Loonasik announced and watched him come on stage. During his set, I noticed his energy was live and his lyrics were dark at times but he did it in a way to keep everyone hype. It was really something to see him perform and feed the morale before the show that ended with Ouija Macc.

John Mayer and other overrated white guys
I was 16 years old in the spring of 2002. It was a rough time to be alive, with 9/11 blindsiding us during my sophomore year of high school. But more importantly for the topic of this post, it was a rough time to be a girl. After the mid-90s rise of Lilith Fair, feminist 'zines, and Sassy magazine, our cultural gatekeepers at places like Rolling Stone decided they'd had enough of this feminist crap. What we needed right now was Britney Spears on the cover of aforementioned magazine in her underwear clutching a stuffed animal, in a nod to "pedophilia chic" - one of the grossest cultural trends of the early 2000s. In any event, truly talented singer-songwriters like Fiona Apple were out. Smug white guys with guitars and pretentious NPR voices were ascendant.
