#3 Kendrick Lamar (Compton California)

Kendrick Lamar has been on the hip hop Scene for awhile now. Staying pretty quiet and out of the spot light since his last album “ DAMN” dropped in April of 2017. He is back with his new album “Mr. Morale & The Big Steppers” making a lot of headlines was the music video to the song “ The Heart Part 5”, Kendrick throughout the entire video changes his face with other stars faces with him showcaseing Kayne West, OJ Simpson, Kendrick also showcased Los Angeles Legends the late Kobe Bryant and the late Nipsey Hussle both who are beloved icons in the Los Angeles area an area where Kendrick grew up. This was a very power gesture of Kendrick being the huge artist he is to keep Kobe and Nipsey alive is great to see. The world lost Kobe Bryant to a helicopter crash on January 26, 2020 longside his daughter and 7 others. And Nipsey Hussle was gunned down in South Los Angeles at his Marthon Clothing store on March 31, 2019. With his alleged shooter Eric Holder still waits trial for the Murder and a few more charges related to the incident. Holder was a childhood friend of Nipseys and was a knowing Rollin’ 60 Crip gang member the same organization that the Late rapper was apart of.

#2 MBnel (Stockton California)

Landing at number 2 is MBnel. Since 2018 with his huge hit “In My City” talking about growing up in the hood of South Stockton. And explaining that being from South Stockton you are more likely to join a gang or streets then go to college and get an education. MBnel has improved with every year he has been on the scene with recent songs “Manifest” and “Amazing” MBnel talks about the successes he has been for chant to receive in hip-hop. He is still humble with hit songs “Nightmare” showing his soft side and how life is hard for him with his lose of his grandmother and with a great video to show his actual love and affection for his grandmother shows his growth from his break out song “In My City” MBnel is looking on his way to stardom. With features from some of California’s biggest artist in Stupid Young, BOE Sosa, and Drakeo the Ruler he is looking to take over the west coast and doing it the independent route with his own label Muddy boyz with help from his partnering label “Empire” for distribution promotion and sales.

#1 Mozzy (Sacramento California)

The hottest Rapper out west goes to Mozzy. Since 2015 Mozzy has been on a role. Hit songs from “ I’m just being honest “ to “Bladadah” to “ Sleep Walking” he has put together a catalog that speaks for its self. Now that he has officially signed with Yo Gotti’s CMG Label he will be for the first time signed to major record deal. To start it off Mozzy released hit song “Real Ones” featuring Roddy Ricch and then his second single “Tell the Truth” featuring Shordie Shordie with the music video being shot back in Mozzy’s Oak Park area as he brings back the reason Mozzy became a factor in the California Hip Hop scene. It’s hard to name an artist from Northern California that is bigger then Mozzy, a few that come to name are Berner out of San Francisco California being the CEO of Cookies. Mozzy as just a rapper he is the hottest name with only Roddy Ricch coming to mind when a rapper from California drops it’s going to be something to listen to.
