Introducing The Sugababes
. Sugababes are a girl group that have been around since 1998, and they started releasing music in 2000. As of writing it has been 21 years since their debut album, One Touch was released. It won’t be long until their second album, Angels with Dirty Faces will also turn twenty. Writing this is starting to make me feel old. I was only a kid when all of these albums came out.

Boom, Bah, Tick, Tok
Music is art that goes in your ears and straight to your heart. I am a music teacher. I go so far as to say that it’s the biggest part of my identity, and one of which I am extremely proud. I've been teaching at the same public school for 34 years. Is it always easy? No. Do I sometimes get frustrated? Yes. Is it worth it? Absolutely. I love it!

Zero Theorem Release Violent Idols Remix of "Threat"
To celebrate what has already been a successful year thus far, Los Angeles based Alternative Metal band Zero Theorem has once again teamed with renowned producer Kane Churko (Five Finger Death Punch, Ozzy Osbourne, Hell Yeah, In This Moment, Papa Roach) on a new Remix of "Threat" that features the talents of rising stars Violent Idols, a group known for AEW star Jon Moxley's theme song and collaborations with multiple hard rock and metal music heavyweights. The result is a new dimension of intensity and imagination melded with the original song - while emphasizing a more industrial and electronic sound. The band has also partnered with emerging YouTube artist Goop Wizard to present a vibrant and psychedelic visualizer video that brings a very different dimension with stunning motion graphics to the listening experience. This version of “Threat” is a bonus track on a special limited edition deluxe release of the combined two-part "The Killing" EP series.

Queen Essentials
My 12-year-old autistic daughter, Haylee, loves Queen. "We Will Rock You" and "We Are the Champions" are her favourite songs. She will replay these two songs over and over again, clapping her hands and singing along. My daughter is my inspiration for the "Pride Playlist" Challenge.

Initiation Rites by Dead & Co
I almost started this post apologizing for being a millennial with no Grateful Dead experience prior to 2014, qualifying my experience in Boulder as I felt would be respectful to those exposed to the light so many years before me, during the years of its creation in a genius, a spirit that only possesses a consciousness ever so rarely. Even more rare is its combination with the chance set of circumstances leading to its amplification and distribution. But this music taught me not to do that. It is with this mindset that I describe my experience in Boulder on July 5th and 6th of 2019.

Asking Alexandria
If this band rings a bell, you may remember them once again from one of my very first articles. As a quick refresher; "Asking Alexandria" is a British rock band from York, North Yorkshire. Officially formed in 2006 by Ben Bruce, they're still active and running strong to this day. Lead signer Danny Worsnop is arguably their most recognizable member. I have no idea what their name means though sadly and from what I've researched no one really does either. So, sorry if you were wondering if I would explain why they're named Asking Alexandria.

Post-Peakdom Depression
Most artists have a well defined "peak" period in the public unconscious when discussing their work. This series will examine the work that comes after, and whether it deserves it's classification as a lesser work thrown in the "for the fans" pile, or whether it deserves some critical re-evaluation. With Modest Mouse releasing a new single this week, I figured it would be a good idea to begin this series with an album thrown in this nebulous post-peak period, We Were Dead Before the Ship Even Sank.
