Songs That Time Forgot
Songs not heard for a long time

I call these forgotten songs. Just had to read the title to remember the song and thought, “Gee, a song that I have not heard in ages.” See if there are any you remember but forgot about.
“Beach Baby” is a song that was recorded by the British band the First Class. It was written by John Carter and his wife, Gillian Shakespeare. The song became the only substantial hit for the band. It came out as a single in 1974 and charted on the Billboard Hot 100, Cash Box, and UK Singles charts.
“Brandy (You’re a Fine Girl)” is a song from 1972 that was recorded by the American rock/pop band Looking Glass. It is featured on their self-titled debut album. It was written by the band’s lead guitarist and co-vocalist, Elliot Lure. The single became a hit and went to number one on both the Billboard Hot 100 and Cash Box Top 100 charts. The song lyrics told the story of Brandy, a barmaid in a busy seaboard harbor town. Though lonely sailors flirt with her, she pines for one who has long since left her because he claimed his life, his love, and his lady, was “the sea.” Following the song's release in 1972, "Brandy" increased in popularity as a girl's name in the United States.
“Dancing in the Moonlight” is a song that was recorded by the French-American rock band King Harvest. The song was written by Sherman Kelly and was originally recorded in 1970 by Kelly’s band, Boffalongo. When King Harvest recorded their version in 1972 the song became a hit and charted on the Billboard Hot 100 chart.

“Magnet and Steel” is a song that was written and recorded by the American rock musician Walter Egan. It became Eagan’s first and biggest hit in 1978. The song charted on the Billboard Hot 100 chart. Members of the British-American rock group Fleetwood Mac, Stevie Nicks and Lindsey Buckingham, sang background vocals. Nick was also Egan's inspiration for the song. “Magnet and Steele” was featured in the films “Boogie Nights,” “Overnight Delivery,” and “Deuce Bigalow: Male Gigolo.”
