Musical Alphabet Letter Z

Usually, we choose songs we like by the melody, the lyrics, and by the musical genre. I’m starting a series with songs from all kinds of genres going according to the alphabet. Here are songs with titles that begin with the letter Z. Links will be posted below as we proceed through the ABCs. Dutch singer Ben Cramer represented the Netherlands in the 1973 Eurovision Song Contest. He was born in Amsterdam and made his TV debut in 1966. His first single was a delightful and melodic song titled “Zai Zai Zai”. It became a hit on the Dutch chart and he went on to have a string of successful records from the late 1960s to the early 1970s. He’s best-remembered for his 1971 record “De Clown”.

“Zanzibar” is a song that was written by American singer, songwriter, and pianist Billy Joel. It is featured on his 1978 album 52nd Street. This is a song often featured in his live concerts. The live concerts are included on the 2006 album 12 Gardens Live and another album Live at Shea Stadium: The Concert. “Zanzibar” can also be found on the compilation album My Lives, In 2021 the song became popular on the short-form-video app TikTok when user @maxsmith_ featured it with an original dance and it went viral, As of February 27, 2021, this song has been featured in more than 400,000 TikTok videos.

“Zebra Crossing the Street” is an interesting song that was written by Ferris Bueller, H.P. Baxxter, Jens Thele, and Rick J. Scooter. It was recorded in 1996 by the German happy hardcore, rave, and techno music band Scooter. The song has earned more than 80 Gold and Platinum Awards. The band has become known in many countries all over the world because of the English lyrics and the names of the songs and musical compositions. They’re considered to be the most commercially successful German single-record act with 23 Top Ten Hits.

“Zannalee” is a song written by American singer, songwriter, musician, record producer, and actor Prince. It is featured on his album Chaos and Disorder from 1995.

“Zombie Stomp” is a song that was written by Ozzy Osbourne, Zakk Wylde, and Randy Castillo. It was recorded by English singer and songwriter Ozzy Osbourne. It is featured on his album No More Tears from 1991. This is the sixth album released by English heavy metal vocalist Ozzy Osbourn and charted on the Billboard 200 album chart. From the album, four singles were released. The RIAA certified the album Quadruple Platinum and the CRIA Double Platinum,

“Zorro’s Ascent” is a song that was written by Alice Cooper, John Nitzinger, Billy Steele, and Erik Scott. It was recorded by American rock singer Alice Cooper. The song is featured on the album Zipper Catches Skin from 1982.

“Zombie” is a protest song recorded by the Irish alternative rock band The Cranberries. It was written by the lead singer Dolores O’Riordon about troubles in Northern Ireland, The song is the lead single from their 1994 album No Need to Argue. Music critics consider the song a masterpiece of alternative rock. In some European countries, the song went to number one. In the US it went to number one on the Billboard Alternative Airplay chart.

“Zero and Blind Terry” is featured in Tracks a four-disc box set released by American singer and songwriter Bruce Springsteen in 1998 containing 66 songs. The box set consists mostly of previously unreleased songs recorded during the sessions for Springsteen’s many albums. The song is also well-known from previous live performances.
