Fox King With A Mandolin
For The Vocal "Harmonic Verses" Challenge

Introduction
I wrote a pantoum based upon a painting by Angie Livingstone (The Glittering Fox) called "The Fox King" which you can read here:
My Vocal friend Novel Allen suggested that this could be a song and I should enter it in the vocal "Harmonic Verses" challenge, so these are the words of the song:
The Fox King

So This Is What Happened
I published the story "The Fox King" and Novel suggested it could be a song for the Vocal "Harmonic Verses" challenge. My friend Mick Errington keeps asking me how my mandolin is coming along and to be honest, it isn't, but I thought I'd use a mandolin for my version of the song (it might keep Mick quiet, but I know it won't π). I just did a basic G D C chord sequence (D C G is the chord sequence for David Bowie's "Queen Bitch" but that is electric and acoustic guitar not mandolin).
It took me a couple of tries to record the YouTube video on my phone, and then I thought I would use SUNO for a version which is far more professional than mine, but I have done one.
I don't know but almost all the acoustic gentle SUNO versions come out as country MOR but that's what it gives. It is still shockingly easy to do.
The thing is any poem that uses a structure can be turned into a song. My main three are sonnets, villanelles and pantoums, but anything that has rhyming and a regular number of syllables in its lines can be sung fairly easily.
If you take the lyrics of a song, most will stand on their own as a poem, and there are so many sites that have song lyrics that you can just read and find out that for years you have been singing the wrong words.
I hope my performance is not so dismal that you can't listen, and the SUNO is OK, but I thank you for giving me your attention and time to read this piece.
I had not intended to enter this Challenge but this is my third one, although I think that is my lot. It has been interesting turning a pantoum into a song, but as I say, I could do that with any of my poems.
Thank you once more my friend.
