Music and Memories
Journey is a great American rock band with one of the most iconic songs ever written, "Don't Stop Believin'." Its message is simple: Believe in your dreams and believe in yourself. It's some of the greatest, yet simplest advice I could offer to anyone. Although this song is not tied to a specific memory or time period along my journey (no pun intended), it represents a simple overarching theme that has held true throughout my life. Shockingly only reaching #9 on the billboard charts in 1981, here is "Don't Stop Believin'."

A Writer's Playlist
As a writer, I find setting the scene is what truly brings your story to life and immerses readers. It needs to feel real; the reader should be able to see the scene that you're seeing in your head. Going places that relate to what I'm writing about and documenting my surroundings helps immensely to create locations that my characters are experiencing but making time to write some days can be difficult, much less making time to travel. Of course, having those picture and notes to look back on aid in keeping a location fresh in my mind, but locations also trigger feelings. Listening to the right music that fits into what your writing makes you feel regardless of where you are or what time it is.

Songs for the Aching Mother
Heh, I wonder what The Glorious Sons would say if they saw my eerie spin on their album cover "Young Beauties and Fools". A lone woman riding a one-eyed old spook in the twilight - his empty eye socket visible to the observant viewer. Making this little twist made me feel like I was back in high school art class, completing an expression piece.
