Look out the window
It's spring 2020. The babies are hitting the ground running and work is busier than ever despite the situation at hand, all over the world with the pandemic of Covid-19. My parents don't come near us, though we talk each day, and even Daniel has learnt to speak to them through the phone - it's nothing like the snuggles they used to give him, but it's better than no contact at all. If it keeps them safe, and us, then I'm okay with it.

Going Places
Well, I've been at the new job for over a month now. I have caught on and am performing well, according to my new boss. It's a challenge, learning something so broad, and serving such a wide range of clientele. I do my best, and at the end of the day, I come home feeling tired, but proud. I'm quite happy with my new lifestyle.

Time to try new things
Well a few things have happened. I'm not actually sure where to start. I decided after a long debate not to return to my job after my maternity leave came to its end. A number of reasons for this - primarily, the travel time and distance, and how it would affect little Daniel. If I am going to work again, I would like to build a career here, close to home.

Detoxing From The Toxic
When they talk about postpartum depression, they talk solely about it being as a result of new motherhood, or the overwhelming emotions and stresses caused thereby. They don't stop and ask, "What kind of support network do you have? How do your parents treat you? How do your friends respond when you need help, or ask for advice? What do you think about leaving baby with someone else? What do you think about YOU? Are you still able to make time for yourself and the things you want? Aside from being a mother, and all the other things you already were?"

Heh, I wonder what The Glorious Sons would say if they saw my eerie spin on their album cover "Young Beauties and Fools". A lone woman riding a one-eyed old spook in the twilight - his empty eye socket visible to the observant viewer. Making this little twist made me feel like I was back in high school art class, completing an expression piece.

Making time for hobbies 101
So if you read my intro, you know a little bit about me by now. If you didn't, I'll give you a short run down. I am a busy body stay at home (for now until my return to full time employment, which will mean a whole new schedule plan - we will cross that bridge when we get there!) mom and farm wife - I look after my one year old son, our four pet cats, our four German Shepherd dogs, plus a herd of fifteen head cattle and four horses. It's winter time, which means my duties are double what they would normally be, since I have to make sure everyone is still thriving in this dreadful cold, and all our maintenance is up to date on our home and our vehicles. Safety and assurance are key when you live outside of town and not near a hospital or emergency services.

My first name is not in fact Rhea, it's actually Leanne. It's nice to meet you, if you're reading this! The title, though it's not something I've ever said before, is a valid statement of my life at this very moment - I am indeed on a search to find myself. I turned twenty-nine years old just two days ago, and I realized quite suddenly that after years of indulging others' needs and wants around me - I never stopped long enough to take note of my own desires, and my own goals and happiness.
