A Stranger’s Kindness That Saved Me
It was a sunny afternoon, the kind that can lifts everyone spirits. But for myself that day was very different. As I was rushing ans already late for an important work at my villege. My heart was beating, and my mind was finding some excuses that I might give to my father for being late. The roads were were very busy, people are walking, cars sounds, birds chattering but I hardly noticed any of it. My goal was on who to getting there as fast as I could. Suddenly, I heard a stranger noise coming from my bike which is escaping of air from the tire. My heart slumped. I looked down and saw the back tire is slowly collapsing, and it had gone flat. I pulled over my bike to the side of the road, staring at it in doubt. “Not now,” i spoken softly with myself. I didn’t have my repair kit.The other problem is that my phone battery was almost about to die, this make my things more worse, there were not have the nearest bike repair shop, but far from this place and It would defently take too long to get there on foot but i didn't want to be late. I stood there helplessly for a while. I felt stuck, hopeless. As I stand by the roadside, feeling little anxiety for being late, I make me feel more frustration,I felt embarrassed. I wasn’t used to asking for help for someone. I always solving my problems on by my own. But that day was the worst day of my life and I was out of luck. When I was beginning to accept that I might not make it on the time to reach, suddenly a red car slowed down and pulled over near me. I looked up, and being unsure whether to be hopeful or to be carefull. A long height man came out of his car. He was wearing a White clothes along with long coat, black sunglasses, and having a friendly smile on his face. He asked me that you need some help Yes my tire flat, I replied, a little embarrassed. And I don’t have a repairing kit to fix it.” He walked over without doubt. He told me that he have got a pump and some patches in his car trunk. Let’s see if we can fix this. I was surprised, and happy. He opened his car trunk, pulled out a small tolkit, and knelt beside the bike. I watched him and he surprised me as he worked quickly and confidently. He found the puncture with in minute, cleaned the spot with water, applied a cream and strip on it, and then pumping air into the tire. It was like watching a professional at work. He was very calm, focused, and efficient in this work. While he was working. He told me about his profession that he was a schoolteacher and loved cycling in off days. He had also been once before in the exact same situation stuck with a flat tire and no help in sight. For That’s reason he always carried a repair kit in his car, just in case he or anyone else needed it. It make me emotional that he care about other people. Within minutes, the work was done. My bike tire was fully reapire, and it looked good. There you go, he said, standing up and cleaning his hands. Good as new. Thank you so much, I replied, deeply grateful. I told him that I didn’t know what I would done without him. He smiled and shack my hand. No problem. I’ve been there before. You need to help someone else when you gound someone in trouble. And then he returned to his car and drove. I stood there for a few minute, looking after him and feeling both comfortable and inspired. His small act of kindness had saved my time. it had reminded me of something important. We often caught up in our own problems, which make us to forget about the other. It's not about just fixing my bike he restored my faith in human kindness. He show me that small actions can have a big impact on other. I made it to my meeting with my father just in time I means little late but on time, a little flurried but incredibly grateful. All the day, I couldn’t even stop thinking about the stranger person who had stopped his car to help me. His generosity had completely changed my thoughts and life. From that moment on, I make a promised myself to return the favor, to be the person who can stops for other to help, even when it’s inconvenient. Because as human beings, we all have a responsibility to support one another. Helping someone doesn’t mean just to solve a problem. It like plants a seed. It can inspire someone to continue the cycle of generosity and kindness, just like this man inspired me. Now, whenever and anywhere I see someone in need no matter it’s a flat tire, a lost tourist who lost their way, or even someone who looks like they need a kind word I remember that afternoon. And I try what I could do for them help without hesitation, and to make someone’s day better.
