Bio
I have loved writing since I was very young. Writing can play as a soft melody or hold the power of a thunderous storm.
I am the author of The Love of Life series on Amazon and enjoy exploring verbal expression in healing and love.

The Box of Redemption
Derrick Brooks took a satisfying sip of his morning coffee as he looked out his large picture window overlooking the beautiful grounds of his lavish estate. Curved driveway, manicured lawns and blossoming flowers of every shade swayed and flourished in the light of the sun. He’d always loved this view, and the fact that it displayed for his pleasure like a living piece of art worthy of Claude Monet’s signature, just made it all the more satisfying.

Chocolate Dreams
“The attention you place into preparing your pan is very important, Emily. The cake is the masterpiece, but the pan is the foundation. If you are careless with preparing your baking pan, then your cake will never reach its full potential. Always build your foundation with love and care. That is what people will feel as they take their first anticipated bite. Cooking is love. You place love into everything you prepare as it nourishes the person eating it. Food can fill the stomach, but well prepared food can fill the soul.”

This Old Barn
This old barn has stood for more than three generations. Sometimes while looking at the worn boards and rusting roof, it is hard to believe that this is where so much love, joy, and even pain, started. If our minds carry memories and experiences so vividly that we can smell the fragrant air or feel the softness of the grass, or even taste the last dinner you shared with someone that you loved, then can a place that witnessed those memories also absorb and record each detail - each emotion? I think it can, and this old barn is a testament to it.

Antics of a Little Brother
At 21, he would cringe to think of this now, but when he was little, my brother Jonny was always up to something. His imagination married beautifully with his sense of practicality and he always felt that he could fix whatever challenges came his way. He would see things on the news like emergency evacuation, or natural disasters, or even sudden mishaps and he would take into his mind to be very prepared.

Hope in the Time of Trouble
I walked in the shadows, carefully making my way past the debris that littered what was once our green and friendly neighborhood. Trees looked like fallen soldiers, houses that were once warm and inviting now melted and twisted their way into the ground as though they were seeking shelter. Frightened hollowed eyes peeked from various hiding places, wondering if this was the last time they would draw breath. I know how they felt. If we thought no day was promised when life was normal, we didn’t realize what was coming.

Gone
I stand in an empty room, quiet and silent. No sound, no tone to the music that was once your voice. This room was always so fully furnished, filled with tables of love, chairs of hope, cups of inspiration, plates of understanding, Platters of deep connections, spoonful's of talks, those conversations that would last hours, but played with time like a swing full of minutes. How could this have happened? Why did you seem to change so quickly? ...

If My Heart Had a Voice
You ever notice how hard it is at times, to communicate. Each person wants to be heard, each person wants to be understood, yet no one at the time is really listening. It is not hard to see that sometimes the meaning just gets lost in the emotion. If only our hearts had a voice to say what we can’t seem to get across verbally. If only the soft intent behind what we feel could take a step forward first, would we be at odds so much?
