Ohio State's Adelaide Aquilla takes NCAA shot put crown Adelaide Aquilla won the shot put at the NCAA Indoor Championships on March 12. The Ohio State junior won with a throw of 18.12. She entered the contest with the sixth best throw of the season. Her previous best throw this year was 17.70.

Stergiopoulos gets gold, Zaire silver at AAU indoor nationals
The AAU National Indoor Championship took place, March 15, in Virginia Beach, Virginia. Athletes from the ages of five to 18 competed from all across the United States in hopes to earn gold, silver and bronze medals as well as the honor of being called an All-American.

First Team Anastasia Hayes - Middle Tennessee State - Senior - Guard After a year at Tennessee, the native of Murfreesboro returned home in 2019 and this year she became the most potent scorer of women's college basketball prior to conference tournament play. She currently averages 26.8 points and had five games with at least 30 points, The 5-7 guard is third in the nation with 153 made free-throws.

First Team Dana Evans - Louisville - Senior - Guard Dana Evans was Louisville's brightest star, averaging a career best 21 points as well as a team best 4.3 assists per game. She had 10 games with at least 24 points this season. Evans had 11 games where she made three or more three-point shots. She also played strong defense recording 1.5 steals per game. She guided Louisville to a league best 14-2 conference finish.

First Team Deja Winters - North Carolina A&T - Senior - Forward This 5-11 native of Cleveland, Ohio, was the leading scorer on the MEAC's regular season championship squad. Deja Winters averaged 14.4 points per game which was a career high. She also averaged two steals per game. She led the conference with 42 made threes.
