The apartment first floor stank of urine and burned his nostrils as he reflected on his recent selection as a member of the elite Warrant Squad. His job was to track down prison escapees, parole violators and halfway house failure-to-returnees and place them back into the detention center to await disposition by the courts and parole boards. Piece of cake for a guy like him; a former military police officer, former town police officer, and former county police officer.
