Preventing Mass Shootings and Addressing Mental Health
The tragic incident of a mass shooting in Maine, resulting in the loss of 18 lives, highlights the urgent need to prevent such massacres and address underlying mental health issues. My condolences to victims’ families and their loved ones. But, my prayers and thoughts go out to law-makers and our President to do something. America is overdue for a lot of things, but we need urgent action for gun violence. The right to bear arms is not enough to hide behind and shield the animosity aimed at the industrial weapon manufacturers who build, sell, and market these tools of death to children and adults. I understand profit over people and its seduction offering rewards for greed but at what costs? Is the margin for profit enough to bury the victims of gun violence within?
