What Fate Does Not Know
Åsa sat at the edge of a large stone, a portion of it overlooking the icy, clear blue water below. Centuries ago this volcanic mound had formed during the last eruption and had created this beautiful pedestal, dangling above the abyss below. This had always been a place of protection for her, where her mind could wander, and thoughts process. A hidden bay at the base of a glacier, not many longed to hike this close to the mountains when the weather changed.

Turning Fiction into Reality
Imagination and creativity, two admirable qualities that go hand in hand. From a young age, I have always been drawn to the world of fantasy. Through the fantastical books of JRR Tolkien, or the everchanging world of George RR Martin, the idea of knights, epic quests, and fantastical creatures entertained me. My mother was no different, and is the main reason as to why I grew up enamored by such detailed writers and the worlds they created. She was a master seamstress, and growing up made my Halloween costumes annually. Except, as I grew older, I followed an unusual path most teenagers go the opposite from. For as the older I got, the more involved with costuming I became.

Being mid-February, the weather was known to rarely fluctuate from anything but cold, wet, and dreary; then again, today was different. Today was something special.

Whole-hearted Living . Third Place in Fresh Start Challenge.
The beginning of spring; when flowers begin to bloom, songs of animals echo around the surrounding nature, and a gentle breeze can be felt as it caresses the skin. Birth. Life. Renewal. These are a few terms that are often associated with spring, and in turn dictate a large course of our planet's cyclical balance.

These Four Walls
I open the old wooden door, and a creak fills the space, echoing as if a cavern or place of burial. Something has died here, but it is not the rotting walls of this ancient building, or even the decaying corpses of rodents scattered across the floor. No, the true death that occurred here was that of myself.
