Overcoming the Odds
As a Mexican immigrant who came to the United States to study software engineering, I know firsthand the challenges of trying to fit in and succeed in a field that is dominated by students from India and China. When I first arrived on campus, I felt like I was completely out of my element. I didn't know anyone, and I struggled to make friends and find my place in the social circles that seemed to be dominated by students from India and China.
