Pomegranate
The outside world was unknown to her, but she could see a glimpse of it through the window in his room. She had lived in that room and had gazed out of that window with her husband for many happy years. It was little more than a rectangular slot where the top of the wall and the rim of the ceiling met. It was equipped with retractable lead-lined slats meant to shield them from further radiation while they slept.
