It started like any other day. The alarm went off. light trickled through the window leaving little specks flying through the air. The visible material in the atmosphere kept my mind pondering the idea of the existence of something after this life. I learned in elementary science that Atoms never die. We are made of tons of this material.

Disappearance at Lake Huánuco
The beautiful shimmering light reflection of the moon. It radiated a heavenly glow, but the picture would deceive. My friends and I had been planning this trip for a while. They were interested in seeing all of Peru and the ruins, all the tourist stuff. I wanted to find the Gold. I knew of this legend from a man I visited in the nursing home where I worked. People called him crazy Jose, but his stories of the treasures he saw astounded me.

The Diary of a Romanoff
It was nighttime in Russia. Alexandar and Jennifer walked down the street after a nice dinner and movie. "Jennifer, I really enjoyed our time together", Alexandar said as he kissed the inside of her wrist. A little romantic move that I am sure he used on many American tourists. Jennifer really didn't mind he was tall with black hair and blue eyes. His skin was as soft as the peddle of a rose. His nose was perfect and fit his chiseled face. She had just met him yesterday on one of her walks around the square, but now she wished she had more time. She was leaving to go back to the US tomorrow.

Mother Undercover
The day had been chaotic. Mondays usually are. Getting the kids ready for school, dressed, breakfast, brushing their teeth, then finally gathering up the homework putting it in the backpack with the sack lunch I had made. There were complaints from John because he wanted to buy lunch with his friends. I explained again how we could not afford it as we bunched up and crowded through the door. I had to make sure everyone was there. Levi did not like to go to school so I had to make sure he did not sneak back in the house when I was rushing to get the kids in the car. “Headcount”, I said as I turned around before I put on my seatbelt. “1, 2, 3, Oh where is Levi?” I asked John as he is the oldest.

The In Between
Maggie and Jennifer were the best of friends since they shared a womb. Maggie always had to one-up her sister, and Jennifer liked the competition. The girls just graduated from Jr. High and were heading to high school. This is where the fun began, well according to Maggie. Maggie was the social one. She had long dark blonde hair and blue eyes. Her body developed early and she was a curvy girl. Her sister on the other hand developed slowly and was a little behind Mags. Jennifer also had the straight long dark blonde hair, but her eyes were chocolate brown. They stood the same height though, and both girls had a love of life itself. If one had a bad day the other could feel it and they would send messages to one another through their minds. This little trick almost got them expelled in Jr. High a few times.

The Universe is Dancing
"Come on it will be a fun girls night", said Janni after she put on her dancing clothes. I call them her dancing clothes because she always wears them to go dancing in. Janni and I became friends after the Dorm counselors threw us together when we didn't get along with our other dorm mates. I am glad I threw that tantrum though because I feel I won the jackpot with Janni.

The Courtyard
My hand reaches for the wand that hangs down the side of the blinds. Grabbing and pushing the stick each panel of the covering slides overlapping one another until the way is opened to the world outside the glass doors. Vivid colors start to come into focus. Blinking I adjust my eyes to the light. I open them again and beautiful hues of blues and tints of green with rays of light are complemented by the shades of browns, reds, and yellows that make up the trees from the court yard. Plants that grow on the ground bring all of the colors to full circle. As I look up into the tree there is a nest far up in the branches, then I see something move. I watch as the animal comes into view. At first it is just a streak of greyish brown, but then I can start to see the shape form into a squirrel. It has a fluffy tale with its agile little body. It scurries further down the branch. I need to take the shot on a camera. It is a good thing I brought my phone out with me to the deck. I love to take pictures in nature. It helps me remember the feelings I have as I see the scenes.
