A prolific writer and film fan, Tom has a deep love of the superhero genre.
The hype for Captain America: Civil War couldn't be more intense, with rumors building that somebody dies. But as we all know, death for superheroes is something very, very different. Here, I want to look at five famous deaths, both in the comics or in the movies, and how they were undone.

Before you read any further, I should point out that I live in the UK and that Captain America: Civil War was released here first. Out of respect for fans worldwide - not least in the United States - this review will be fairly spoiler-light; where I discuss key twists, I'll be as unspecific as possible. You've been warned, though, that spoilers do follow!
Captain America: Civil War is released worldwide, and that means some lucky viewers who happen to live in countries like the UK have already seen it. Yes, that includes yours truly, and I'm delighted to tell you that the film's great! What's more, it's filled with clever little details, and here's a small one that I think may have slipped past most viewers.
Be warned: SPOILERS FOLLOW! Captain America: Civil War is ostensibly based on the iconic Marvel Civil War miniseries. It's an action-packed thrill of a ride that casts Iron Man and Captain America on different sides of an ethical debate over the registration of superheroes, and in the build-up Marvel has attempted to divide the fans just as much. Ever since the release of Daredevil Season 1, Marvel fans have watched the Netflix shows with delight. Where the ABC TV series have been light entertainment, the Netflix shows have been dark and gritty. Jessica Jones dared to dig into the psychology of rape victims, while Daredevil Season 2 introduced us to Jon Bernthal's tremendous Punisher.
Excitement is continuing to build for Captain America: Civil War, and early reviewers are united in the view that Tom Holland's new Spider-Man is amazing.
It's one of the abiding mysteries of our time. #Marvel and Sony have made a deal to share the Spider-Man franchise between themselves, but just how does that deal work?
We're in the final run-up to Captain America: Civil War, and naturally the cast and crew are doing countless interviews. ABC's Nightline got a particularly interesting one tonight:
Over the last few months, one word has been repeated endlessly on social media when fans discuss films. It's not a pleasant word. It's #whitewashing.
Fox released their final trailer for X-Men: Apocalypse! This trailer's a bit more unusual; it's heavy on exposition, teases that Wolverine plays a role in the film after all, but really has its focus on one character.
