Poison
This poem is fourth in a collaboration by members of the Saloon for Writers Facebook group. Being angry with others for days, weeks, months, years and decades on end was like drinking enormous glass bottles of other people's bleach. It was the type of poison that demolished my health and wellness. It was the excessive quantity of toxins that invaded and damaged me severely. My days became soiled with negativity and pessimism. It was psychologically, mentally, spiritually and emotionally unhygienic. My energy levels went down the drain. My happiness became garbage instead of something as valuable as a box of gold. Just a friendly and loving reminder to all, quit swallowing one's poison. To mentally sanitize ourselves, rid yourselves of the dirt that's still roaming around in your system. Don't hold onto negativity and drama. Don't imbibe other people's chemicals that'll intoxicate you later on.
