The last wish of a prisoner Part 1
There was a prisoner who had been sentenced to death. When his last wish was asked, he chose a wish that made everyone in the jail scratch their heads. He said, "My last wish is to spend the last night of my life with a virgin girl who will willingly stay with me. Please announce it on the mosque's loudspeaker to see if there is any girl who wants to be my wife." Convict number 917 did not seem like an ordinary prisoner to look at. He always seemed to be lost in another world. I couldn't quite decide whether he was innocent or a sinner. But whenever I looked at him, I felt like he was immersed in deep thought. There was an unearthly serenity on his face, but that serenity was mixed with an unknown and painful sadness. You know, what bothered me the most was that he was only nineteen years old. I thought he hadn't even seen this world properly, and now it was time for him to leave the world. He spoke very little. You know, either he didn't have the words to say, or he didn't want to talk. I often felt like asking him, "What sin have you committed for which the punishment is death?" But such indifference emanated from his face that my mouth would automatically shut. While working in the legal system, I had become a very hard-hearted person because my job was like that. But seeing that prisoner number 917, a strange kind of compassion arose in my mind. You know, thousands of questions stirred in my mind. But our jail had very strict rules. Here, it was strictly forbidden to establish any relationship with the prisoners in jail or to feel sympathy for them. One day I received a notice that convict number 917 would be executed in two days. For this reason, he would be given the opportunity to meet his parents for the last time. After reading this notice, a strange kind of restlessness started in my mind. My mind was very restless. My restlessness did not seem to end. I knew that every prisoner on death row was asked about their last wish. It is their right, which must be granted before death. It could be their favorite food, a desire to eat, a desire to meet their loved ones, or any kind of wish. Every effort is made to fulfill the prisoner's wish. Convict number 917's name was Rehan. That day he met his mother. The woman was holding her son tightly and repeatedly saying, "Son, I have complete faith that Allah will save you from punishment." The woman's words kept ringing in my ears. This false hope of a mother seemed impossible to me. The sentence had been announced, and once a sentence was announced, no kind of decision was taken back. But this woman was very confident that her son was innocent and would somehow be saved from punishment. That day I received a notice to find out Rehan's last wish. It was a notice to allow him to meet his family members for the last time. I thought maybe the boy would say that he wanted to spend some more time with his family members. Because in such circumstances, people usually don't express big wishes. But I never thought that his last wish would be so strange and surprising that I would be shocked to hear it. I came in front of him and prepared to talk to him for the first time. After being silent for some time, I asked him in a soft voice, "Rehan, do you have any last wish? Tell me if you have any kind of wish, and the maximum effort will be made to fulfill it." After looking at me for a while, he said in a faint voice, "I have a last wish, and I want you to promise me that you will fulfill my last wish." I assured him and said, "Every prisoner has the right to have their last wish fulfilled before their death. I promise you, I will try my best to fulfill your last wish." I was very surprised thinking that he was expressing this kind of last wish so clearly. I said, "Come with me. The SP sir will find out about your last wish downstairs." I took Rehan to the SP sir's room. Seeing him, the SP sir asked, "Rehan, son, do you have any last wish?" I was surprised to see that the SP sir was talking to him in such a soft voice. Usually, it doesn't happen like this. But maybe he knew the truth. Maybe he knew what the boy's crime was and why he had been sentenced to death. Most of the prisoners here had minor offenses, but the punishment was harsh. And so many big offenders were roaming freely outside. Rehan took a long breath and said, "My last wish in life is that I want to get married for the first and last time in my life. I want to get married and spend the last night of my life with my wife." As soon as I heard this, silence filled the entire room. I and everyone in the room started looking at each other. The SP sir was silent for some time, then asked, "Son, we will get you married. But will any girl marry you? Will any girl marry you knowing that you will be executed the next day? You are a death row inmate, and your age is so low. Your family members can't get you married by giving money to any girl's family. You are a boy from a poor family. And will any girl easily marry a poor boy? Especially one who is going to be executed in two days. So why do you want to waste the last time of your life?" The SP sir was silent for some time, then said again, "Tell me about something else, like your favorite food or a wish to meet a special person. We are ready to do everything for you, but getting you married is not possible. You are a death row inmate. Who will agree to marry you? How can we get you married?" But Rehan remained stubborn. He said, "SP sir, I have already said that my last wish is marriage, but you don't worry. I will tell you a way through which my marriage will happen very easily." Hearing Rehan's words, the SP sir started looking at him with surprised eyes. He seemed to be lost in deep thought, as if he was afraid that Rehan might ask some female worker of the jail or someone else to marry him. But what Rehan said was even more surprising. Rehan said, "Just announce it on the mosque's loudspeaker that Rehan Khan wants to marry a girl who is willing to marry him one day before his death sentence is carried out." As soon as I heard this, silence filled the entire room. Everyone started looking at each other again. The words were so strange that it felt unbelievable. Rehan took a promise from all of us that if any woman or girl agreed to marry him, then we would not stop him from getting married, and he would be able to spend the whole night with that married wife. We were forced to think about the matter because of his cleverness. The SP sir was silent for some time, then said, "I don't believe that any girl will agree to marry you on these conditions. Why would any girl ruin her life willingly? What will she gain by being your wife for a day? Why would anyone marry you against the wishes of their family?" But none of our words had any effect on Rehan. He said in a calm voice, "Get it announced. This is my last wish. If no one agrees, then I will not choose any other wish. Let the death sentence be carried out." Rehan's stubbornness forced us to give in. We announced it in the mosque. Rehan Khan, who has been sentenced to death and will be executed in two days, has a last wish to marry a girl. If any girl is willing to marry Rehan, then she should come and contact the jail. The announcement was made throughout the area. But we had a belief in our minds that no girl would agree to marry him on these conditions. Rehan was a child from a very poor family, and we believed that no girl would agree to marry him on these conditions. But still, we fulfilled his last wish without thinking. The matter seemed like a complete joke to us. It seemed like an impossible event. After some time, our jail clerk came to the door and said that a girl was standing at the jail gate dressed as a bride, and a Qazi Sahib was also with her. Hearing this, I and the SP sir were surprised and came out. A girl was standing in front of us, who would be seventeen or eighteen years old. She was really dressed like a new bride, completely decked out in wedding attire. A Qazi Sahib was with her, who had wedding papers in his hand. The SP sir asked with suspicion, "Maulvi Sahib, who are you?

The SP sir asked with suspicion, "Maulvi Sahib, who are you? And who is this girl?" Then that Qazi Sahib said,"The girl came to me and said that I should perform her marriage and come to the jail with her." When asked why, the girl told me that her husband would be executed in two or three days. We were all surprised to hear all these words of the Qazi Sahib. He said, "I told the girl a lot, 'Daughter, why do you want to ruin your life?' But she remained adamant. She said that she would only marry this prisoner because she really loves some prisoner." As soon as I heard this, a strange silence spread throughout the jail. We never thought that anyone would love Rehan so much that they would leave everything and come to him at the last moment of their life. We were all very surprised, but we could not back down from our promise in any way. Our job was only to fulfill the prisoner's last wish. Finally, the Qazi Sahib was brought inside to complete the wedding ceremony, and Rehan was brought out of his cell to the office room for the wedding. The Qazi Sahib married Rehan to the girl. After the wedding was over, Rehan said, "Now you send the girl to my cell. I want to talk to my new bride and relive old memories. Just for one day, then my memories will fade into the water. After that, whether you want to hang me or kill me is up to you. You can do whatever you want with me. I have found the person I love. I don't want anything else." Hearing Rehan's words, tears welled up in my eyes. Maybe true love is like this. I wiped my eyes, but I didn't know that there was such a story hidden behind this marriage that everyone would be on the verge of losing consciousness if they heard it. The SP Sahib smiled and told me to send the girl to Rehan's cell and close the door. I completed all the arrangements and closed the door, leaving them alone. I thought that the girl would come out in a short time, but as time went on, I started hearing slight sounds. It felt like someone was trying to open something. I suspected that someone was trying to break the jail door, but I was relieved because I knew it was not an easy task. There was a very big and strong lock on the door. I went back to my place and became lost in thought. Suddenly, a heart-wrenching scream echoed from inside the jail. I quickly got up from my chair and went to the door of Rehan's cell. I asked from inside, "What happened?" The girl, who was dressed as a new bride, took off her veil and started breathing heavily. She was crying restlessly, then her body started shaking. When I asked her a little bit, she said while trembling, "Take me away from here. I don't want to stay here." I said to her, "What happened to you suddenly? A while ago, you got married willingly. Has the intoxication of your love worn off? Are you worried about your future now?" But the girl didn't say anything. She just stood there holding her clothes tightly, as if she had seen something terrible. I opened the cell door. The girl ran out at lightning speed. I closed the door properly. I fulfilled my duty, then came back and fell asleep. I didn't even imagine that I would face a huge disaster after opening my eyes. In the morning, the SP Sir came to my room at a fast pace and said in an angry voice, "Where is prisoner number 917?" I said, "He is probably in his cell." The SP Sir said in a stern voice, "Go and see for yourself." I quickly ran towards Rehan's cell. Standing in front of the door, I called Rehan as usual, but there was no reply from inside. I started sweating. My heart rate increased. I peeked through the window, and I was about to lose consciousness after seeing what I saw. Inside the cell, a person was lying with their back turned, wearing men's clothes. My hands and feet started trembling. I quickly opened the cell door and turned that person around. I was surprised because it was the same girl who had come to marry Rehan last night. I stood there stunned. Just then, the SP Sir arrived there. As soon as he saw this scene, he shouted in surprise, "What kind of spectacle is going on here? Where is the prisoner Rehan? Give me an answer." I was not in a state to answer. The SP Sir's anger increased even more. "All of this has happened because of you. If you can't do your duty properly, then what are you doing here? Because of your mistake, an inmate who was sentenced to death has disappeared from the jail." My mind went blank. I looked at the unknown girl lying in front of me, who was lying in Rehan's place. It was all a deception. Rehan had made a fool of all of us. He himself had escaped from the jail dressed as a new bride. Last night, I thought that this girl had come to marry Rehan because she was madly in love. I thought that the girl really loved Rehan, but all of this was just a conspiracy. Rehan has used this girl against us, and we have all blindly helped him to make his plan successful. Now the question was what to do with this girl. She was sitting in front of us, and there was neither fear nor regret on her face. In a cold voice, she told us, "You have not done right by Rehan. He has not committed any crime that deserves the death penalty." I got angry and said, "Time will tell." The girl looked me in the eye and said, "Rehan is innocent, and time will prove it." I started getting even angrier at the girl, but there was nothing I could do at that time. The SP Sahib shouted and said, "Quickly try to find Rehan. If we don't find him in two days, then what will we answer to the higher authorities? He was supposed to be given the death penalty, and he has cheated us and run away. This is very shameful for us." I was feeling very restless. I myself couldn't understand how such a big deception could happen to me. I had trusted a human being. I had believed in a girl's words. I had married them, and in return, they had thrown dust in my eyes. Now I had only one path left. To find out the parents of the girl and to find out the truth by talking to them. But then an idea came to my mind. I thought I would ask the girl directly, maybe the truth could be known from her. Finding Rehan was very difficult. He had escaped from the jail many hours ago. We only found out about it in the morning, whereas he had escaped at four o'clock in the morning. I don't know where he is now. I looked at the girl sitting in front of me and said, "I want to ask you two questions. I hope you will answer truthfully." She answered clearly without any hesitation. "I am ready to tell the truth on Rehan Bhaiya's oath." I looked at the girl with surprise. She was now calling Rehan Bhai instead of husband. I asked in a clear voice, "Do you really consider Rehan your brother, or is he really your brother? Why did you two do this drama?" The girl became silent, as if lost in deep thought, then she said something that made me lose consciousness. The girl said, "No, he is not really my brother." I said, "Then why did you do this? Why did you marry him? And why are you suddenly calling him your brother? You two have cheated us. Rehan has cheated me and run away from the jail, but know that we will catch Rehan very soon, and we will give him the death penalty." But the girl remained calm. The girl put another check in my check and said, "Believe me, this is not true. Rehan will come back soon. He knows very well where he has to go and where he doesn't have to go, and the most important thing is that he has married me, and now I am also his responsibility, and Rehan never deviates from his responsibility. He can never leave me alone and go anywhere." Hearing the girl's words, I was surprised. How can she say with so much confidence that Rehan will come back? Was it really possible? I asked the girl, "Do you really believe that Rehan will come back?" The girl said, "If you listen to my whole story, then maybe your decision will change. Then you will understand what the truth is." I became silent. I could see that the girl was still firm on her words. If I asked her something else, then maybe she would tell us something more about the truth. The girl started speaking. "My name is Razia, and Rehan's engagement was done with my elder sister. Since childhood, Rehan has been a very brave and fearless boy. I have never seen him being afraid of anything. Rehan was my father's cousin's son. My father liked Rehan Bhaiya very much, and he trusted him a lot too. When Rehan Bhaiya's engagement was done with Badi Apu, Rehan Bhai started coming to our house frequently. I was quietly listening to the girl's words. She was saying that the atmosphere of our village was very strange. One day, Rehan Bhaiya came to our house to meet Badi Apu. Apu was not at home that day, but Rehan Bhai had come to our house many times before because he had become a member of our family. That night, only two of us sisters were at home, and no one else was there. Rehan Bhai had come through the back door. I understood that he had come to meet Apu. I started making tea in the kitchen so they could sit in the room and talk. Everything was going normally, but suddenly there was a loud noise at the door. I thought maybe Apu had come, so I quickly went towards the door. When I opened the door and looked outside, I was shocked. Three to four people were standing outside. Their clothes and faces looked very scary. It was clear from their faces that they were not ordinary people, maybe some goons. Fear spread throughout my body, but I felt some relief thinking that Rehan Bhai was with us. I quickly closed the door. They said, "Open the door quickly, otherwise you will be in trouble." I pleaded with folded hands, "Please, we are only two sisters in the house." One of those people said while laughing, "We know very well that a boy has entered your house some time ago. You will not be able to fool us." Just then, hearing the noise, Rehan Bhai came out. He signaled me to go inside. I quickly went to my room, but I could hear everything that was happening outside. Rehan Bhai went and stood in front of those thugs. One of them said something very bad, which made Rehan Bhai's blood boil. He was working with his mind because there were four or five people standing in front of him, and he was alone. If he had given them a counter-reply and a fight had broken out there, then we two sisters would have been alone at home. For this reason, he politely sent those thugs away, but it had become a matter of ridicule. Four thugs used to stand outside our house every day. Whenever Abu went out, these people would start harassing us. Then one night, something happened that changed our lives completely. My elder sister was sleeping in her room. In the darkness of night, we suddenly heard the sound of breaking. Someone was trying to enter inside by breaking the window. At that time, Rehan Bhai was also at home. It was not easy for him to tolerate all this. When those thugs were forcibly trying to enter the house, a big fight broke out between Rehan Bhai and those thugs, which changed our entire lives. In that fight, my sister died, and it was an accidental accident in Rehan Bhaiya's hands, and for this, he is sentenced to death. But the real culprit has not been caught." She wanted to make sure our honor was taken and then she could go to rest, then she started to speak again, I have gotten my mothers contact that she was telling me, what is needed to give to her. Nazia said as I was telling them and they came together, it would be very good at home. But it has been the need to give back, the sister would give but I would not forgive. I was then I could take this home. We'd give our love but they would start screaming so it could make it easy for me to know with the plans. Rehan met with a big lawyer. The lawyer was against Rehan. When there was nobody by his side, he saved him, now this lawyer is by Rehan's side and showed that Rehan is not the killer and proved his innocence. If Rehan did this, then he wouldn't have anything else. This had to be fair. Allah shows love and the truth. The mother told me I would not have to feel the same." After listening to the whole story, I don't know anything I had been thinking. The mind feels the equations. Life is mixed with all sorts of stories and time and some stores in a life. Let me know if you have any questions.

The way her eyes wandered too far, like they were chasing things only she could see, made them uncomfortable.
