Hunger came, unbidden and fierce, A silent thief, a jagged pierce. It stripped away the layers of ease, And left me yearning for simple reprieve.
When the day left me hollow, my strength worn thin, And the world seemed a maze I could never win, I turned to the night, where the silence gleams,
